Good news for those of us looking forward to the next feature film adaptation of Stephen King’s It – the film is finally entering pre-production, with plans on going behind cameras this June in New York, reports Production Weekly.

“True Detective’s” Cary Fukunaga is at the directorial helm of this film that is set to go places that the 1990 TV mini-series simply was not able to. This second adaptation of the classic novel will be split into two (or maybe three) parts, chronicling the childhood and then adult life of the main characters. At this time Fukunaga is only attached to direct the first part. Seth Grahame-Smith, David Kajganich and Chase Palmer penned the new feature for Warner Bros.

HUMAN CENTIPEDE 3 Will Include a 500-Person Centipede
http://collider.com/human-centipede-3-synopsis-release-date/

For now, peruse the official synopsis below and let us know if you’ll be venturing into the world of Human Centipede one more time for the final chapter.

Bully prison warden Bill Boss (Dieter Laser), leading a big state prison in the US of A, has a lot of problems; his prison statistically has the highest amount of prison riots, medical costs and staff turnover in the country. But foremost he is unable to get the respect he thinks he deserves from his inmates and the state Governor (Eric Roberts). He constantly fails in experimenting with different ideas for the ideal punishment to get the inmates in line, which drives him, together with the sizzling heat, completely insane. Under threats of termination by the Governor, his loyal right hand man Dwight (Laurence R Harvey) comes up with a brilliant idea. A revolutionary idea which could change the American prison system for good and save billions of dollars. An idea based on the notorious Human Centipede movies, that will literally and figuratively get the inmates on their knees, creating the ultimate punishment and deterrent for anyone considering a life of crime. Having nothing to lose, Bill and Dwight create a jaw-dropping 500-person prison centipede.

SXSW Review: Fresh, Original, & Surprisingly Tender Horror 'Nina Forever'

Despite its shortcomings, “Nina Forever” is a fresh take on the genre. In fact, it transcends the confines of horror so much that it’s a hard one to recommend to typical gore hounds. Yes, it contains abundant amounts of blood, sex, and nudity. Hell, two of the actors are naked during half the film’s running time, and the other is never seen clothed. Yet the brothers’ goal is far from empty titillation, as they construct an original and surprisingly tender romance. [B+]

SUN CHOKE Trailer Brings Horror Into the Daylight
http://collider.com/sun-choke-trailer-stanley-film-festival/

With the Stanley Film Festival just a few weeks away (more on that here), we’re getting an advance look at one of the films that will be making its debut there. Sun Choke was written and directed by Ben Cresciman and stars Sarah Hagan (Freaks and Geeks) and Barbara Crampton (You’re Next, We Are Still Here). The movie comes from Lodger Films and looks like it takes a unique aesthetic approach to the horror genre with its brightly lit frames.

Cresciman told THR “So much of horror takes place in darkness. I bring that kind of story into the sunlight.”
Here’s the official synopsis for Sun Choke:

Janie’s just trying to get well. As she recovers from a violent psychotic break, she’s subjected each day to a bizarre holistic health and wellness regimen designed, and enforced, by her lifelong nanny and caretaker. But when she develops an obsession with a stranger, Janie’s buried demons begin to surface.

Review: 'Unfriended' uses new social media language for familiar ghost story

"Unfriended" is a very silly film.

"Unfriended" is also a very clever film. For a very silly film. And that combination of clever and silly will most likely make "Unfriended" a small sensation of sorts among the audience it is clearly chasing. It made me laugh when a group of teens paused mid-conversation to explain to one another what a "troll" is, because every person in that conversation would 100% already know that word. It's clearly a nod to the idea that my parents might see "Unfriended," and they wouldn't know, so someone has to explain it. The makers of "Unfriended" shouldn't worry, though, because there's little or no chance my parents would ever see this movie.

Casting Firms Up for Gothic Mystery The Limehouse Golem
http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/97375/casting-firms-up-for-gothic-mystery-the-limehouse-golem/

Per Variety, Alan Rickman (below left; Harry Potter franchise), Olivia Cooke (below right; “Bates Motel”), and Douglas Booth (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) will star in The Limehouse Golem, written by Jane Goldman (Kingsman: The Secret Service, The Woman in Black) and produced by Number 9 Films. Juan Carlos Medina (Painless) is set to direct.

Lionsgate Films has acquired UK and Irish distribution rights while HanWay Films has boarded worldwide sales rights.

The Limehouse Golem is a Gothic murder mystery in the style of Se7en and vein of The Woman in Black; producers are Stephen Woolley (Interview with the Vampire), Elizabeth Karlsen (Carol), and Joanna Laurie (Hyena). It is set in London in 1880. In the dangerous Limehouse district, a series of murders have shaken the community. So monstrous and ruthless are these crimes, the press claim they’re the work of The Golem — a legendary creature from dark times. Confronted by a murderer of a yet unknown kind and with no genuine leads, the police put the vastly experienced Detective Inspector Kildare on the case, a scapegoat for when the next victim surfaces.

I would watch Rickman sell shoes.

THE ENTITY: James Wan to Produce Horror Remake from THE CONJURING Scribes
http://collider.com/the-entity-james-wan-to-produce-horror-remake-from-the-conjuring-scribes/

The original is a Rosemary's type flick that I remember was not bad...but in the movie of the week kinda way. Very dated, very faux Hammer. I would imagine it is gonna be a total revision with the barest of resemblances.

Is that the one with Barabara Hershey getting sexually assaulted by a ghost every 20 minutes? I barely remember it.
