So I reconciled with Netflix and just gave them my money*, again. The reason: Killer Inside: The mind of Aaron Hernandez. Unsettling.Compelling. A conflicted mind without the tools to process the issues at hand. And, hot take-- that dude really liked shooting people to problem solve. Worth a watch.


Fully accept the character flaw that this statement exposes:Damn, that man is fine; like I?m cool with your bull**** (read: murdering), just take off your shirt and smile at me with those dimples, fine. Was not prepared to learn that about myself. *hot burning shame*

*note to Santiclaws: After a couple of months i did ask a friend (sheepishly) for their login and password as per our discussion and just like you said they instantly gave me their password. Sadly, never used it because of some sort of self-reliant pride(?). Two steps forward..one step back, eh? [Work in progress sign]

See, I am from the school of thought that a lot of people are partial hussies. I am ok with paying for my entertainment needs (books, movies, comics, music), but I'll whore my self for food. :fpalm:

So What party? just needs to start with one thing and work her way to shamelessly bumming streaming services (and beyond?). mhihi: ;)

Again, tired of living in the extremes the goal is more middle of the road.

 
Doing a little catch up on older shows. End of the F*****g world – season 2, darker, sadder and as convincing as an emo love story. It has a very “the call is coming from inside the house” intensity but without becoming a cookie-cutter teenage horror throwaway story. The Brits again show they kind of own the limited series genre. Binged the whole damn thing.





Side note for “the Leftovers” fans: “Holy Wayne” played the chemist and I seriously was waiting for him to offer someone a hug. Hug away that pain…Wayne. [2020 board dork award should be a lock for me now, don’t even try to take it boys, that shiz is as good as won.]
 
Started watching October Faction which seems like a cross with the Umbrella Academy and Men In Black
 
So I recently started watching "The Sinner" - a sort of anthology series (originally on USA Network) starring Bill Pullman as a detective with his own personal problems (aren't they all?). I'd never heard of it, just showed up on my "Recommended" list. I say "sort of" anthology because it involves the same main character, but each season involves a different (murder) investigation. The twist is that in each investigation, there is no doubt as to "whodunit" but he is trying to figure out the "why?" with very atypical perpetrators lacking any obvious motive. Season 1 also stars Jessica Biel, who is surprisingly good, and Season 2 features Carrie Coon, for you Leftovers fans. I liked Season 1, but I'm liking Season 2 more (97% on RT) and am finding it eminently bingeable. Worth a look for police procedural and Bill Pullman fans.

I finished this over the weekend. I did enjoy it, but it seems like it couldn't figure out if it wanted to be a kids/teen show or adult oriented. At times violent, colorful language etc, but at other times total kids cheese. The ending was incredibly predictable. I'd still take a second season.

This film starts out like Castaway in disguise. A girl washes ashore on a beach after a boat accident. Bodies of the other riders start to appear, but then at night they disappear... She realizes she's not alone on this island. For being a mostly one person cast it's never slow or boring. Worth checking out if you're tired of scrolling through the same ol stuff.
 
Altered Carbon Season 2 is on now. Babylon Berlin Season 3 will be released tomorrow. Easily one of the best shows on TV.

The creature reveal was pretty awesome. I read a lot of good stuff about this, watched it twice...just didn't work for me.
 
Hardy Bucks



An Irish version of Trailer Park Boys. Unemployed lads, getting drunk, getting high and fighting (literally) the good fight in a small town. Can barely follow the slang plus accent but not-so-secretly want to be able to understand. It?s ugly, grey and almost without charm visually but I?m still watching. It will either hit the spot or rub you the wrong way?you won't know unless you try.
