I really 'get' why they are having a go at this. Still wish they wouldn't. Carpenter flexing a bit may help, Joel Silver leaving is addition by subtraction.

Deadline broke the news that Fox had won competitive bidding on the project. I?ll go ahead and skip the usual conjecture about what could go wrong r what could go right. I love the original Escape From New York and I recognize I live in the real world where remakes happen. There?s always a chance this could be good. I want all movies to be good. So let?s just pray for that.

Why don't they remake Escape From LA? That was the one that needs fixing. Lots and lots and lots and lots of fixing.

Awwwww come on. I love that movie. So corny. Peter Fonda and Snake 'riding the big one', Steve Buscemi Maps to the Stars, Pam Grier as a transgender...what's not to love. Great nu-metal soundtrack too. Stright up CHEESE!!!!!!!! Get 'altered' and re-watch, there is fun to be had there.
 
If they want to make some pile of cheese that can only truly be appreciated in Colorado and the Pacific Northwest, that's one thing, but don't be dragging Snake Plissken into it.

There's about 17 or so other states(including California) that are in that audience...��

The thing just WON'T DIE. Is there REALLY that much clamor for this. Can't the studios still cash in on the original. It's not that old and I assume 'the kids' can morbidly appreciate Brandon Lee as an icon still. Re-release it and there will be a whole new generation of lunchbox toting cutters dressing as The Crow for Halloween. SHEESH.

Just pull the plug. The universe is trying to tell them not to defile a classic, and they continue to ignore the signs. I hope a bird pecks out the eyes of the studio executives.
