Universal Is Remaking ?Kindergarten Cop? With A Possible TV Series To Follow

You know I am so tired of...wait, they are remaking what??? Oh...nevermind,

I wouldn't be surprised to see Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson cast in the role. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he's cast in 75% of upcoming remakes for the next 5 years or so, including all the non-Terminator Schwarzenegger movies.

Totally agreed, they could simply remake every Arnold movie but with the Rock and make a ton of money. Critics and movie purists will hate it....but for the studios its easy money. CBGB aka Dancing Boy and Matt Barry told me once that Air Bud 5 believe it or not raked in millions upon millions. And when studios can put out formulatic crap like that and be guarenteed to make big bucks there is little, if any, incentive to take a risk.

On a someone diffrent note, I recorded Heavans Gate the other night-im interested to watch it through a purely unbiased eye as opposed to going in with the notion it was huge flop.

Is it the directors cut? I have long wanted to see that...

HALLOWEEN RETURNS Goes into Production in July with Marcus Dunstan at the Helm
http://collider.com/halloween-returns-goes-into-production-in-july-with-marcus-dunstan-at-the-helm/

We already knew that Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton penned the script, but now Dimension and Trancas also added that Dunstan is set to direct the film as well. Dunstan and Melton co-wrote a bunch of Saw scripts, Piranha 3DD, The Collector and The Collection. Dunstan also directed those last two so Halloween Returns will mark his third go behind the lens.

I?m not a big The Collector fan, so it?s tough to get hyped about the new Halloween movie based on Dunstan and Melton?s involvement alone. According to the press release, the log line is being kept under wraps, but Moviehole claims to have tracked down the story details:

??Halloween Returns? will pit a new group of Haddonfield youngsters against Myers. The now 18-year-old child of one of Myers? victims plays a central role along with the child of a cop whose long been obsessed with Myers? case, even putting it before his own daughter.

Myers is now on death row and the two kids with their own personal vendettas against the killer sneak in to watch his execution. But when things go awry and Myers escapes, the pair, along with their friends, find themselves in the firing line.?

That sounds terrible. Look, it will be in 3d in order to wring every drop out of a dopey audience fulla kids who, and this becomes more and more the case, who weren't alive through the original heyday, so it's repackaged for the social media tweener generation. Whatever. Who cares anymore. Rob Zombie's version were ass, more or less...but at least he went in trying to make something...anything. I like the Collector movies, they have a real dirty kinda feel...but this will be purely a by the numbers cash in. PASS.
