Man. How sad. Brad and Janet will be some Tweener Hipster trash, they got a Transsexual to play a Transylvanian Transvestite*, and the most insipid Dorian Gray ever(from Penny Dreadful)...for Riff Raff? Are you kidding me. He better wake the **** up, because RR carries things ASMUCH as Frank n Furter. Dude is too pretty to have enough personality to play the part.



*While I am sure LAverne Cox appreciates the work, isn't casting a transgender, I dunno, kinda on the nose and insulting. Like, 'oh that's how you see me'. Then again, they cast a non trans actor and everyone is up in arms too. Please don't do this. This is not a world anymore where this exists. It's a bad idea and an insult to a much better time in my life.

Look...I LOVE Tim Curry, LOVE!!!!!!!! I don't think anyone could do what he did in RHPS. He made Frank'n'Furter one of those rare instances where someone so completely inhabited a role that nobody could ever survive the comparison. Pennywise also. I loved him as King Chicken on Duckman(God I miss that show) and in Clue, hell, even in crap like McHale's Navy. And I do not begrudge him working. But I think we have all seen just how much his stroke(s) have ravaged the man as we knew him. I don't want to see that. I mean that in a loving way. I do not want him exploited by this, and let's face it, that's what it is. It's like them adding him gives this an air of legitimacy...and that's not right. What was once just a cynical cash grab/raiding of the past has now become an even more malicious and uglier thing. Shameful.

We like to think of our film as a reimagining of the first, rather than a remake. We certainly never set out to make a better version of the first film. We set out to create a unique film inspired by the characters and the idea that a human can actually, possibly straddle life and death when duly pushed. This is what we loved about the original and this is why we agreed to tackle its reimagining.

Hurm. They actually do make some solid points. And the reviews are not as unforgiving as they could be. More, don't know WHY they remade, than, holy christ this is godawful , I may actually seek out a chance to watch this with an open mind.

The Universal Monster Cinematic Universe has expanded by one with the announcement that Johnny Depp is “set to star” as The Invisible Man.

Deadline reports the actor will take the role in the second film of Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan‘s planned linked series of films based on the studio’s stable of monsters. The search for a director and writer is still underway.
