All Things: San Diego Comic-Con

well, crap.
got thursday and sunday for 3 outta 4 of our party.
so, that sucks.
hopefully, we can fill in the blanks in open registration.

Would love to tell you how great Hall H was on Saturday...but due to unprecedented line cutting(by the hundreds) and people selling ill gotten/counterfeit wristbands, we, despite lining up at 7am Friday and following all the rules, got screwed. Kq and I even attended the post con Town Hall where the problems were stated with a LOT of passion. The rep for SDCC looked woozy after the 2 hour gripe fest. But at least he admitted that their problem solving is not keeping up to the pace of the problems. I am sure that a lot of the issues will be looked into and an attempt will be made to remedy...but the logistics are pretty overwhelming. The problem is that SDCC is using Mom & Pop solutions for state of the art scamming. My entire party was disillusioned enough to put the future into question with me leading the way...but I dunno. I will probably go next year if given the opportunity. But if they do this to us 6 or 7 more times...i'm out.

After last year, a year in which EVERY damned thing re:SDCC was a pain in the ass(to the point that we really considered taking a year off), the first flaming hoop was pretty damned easy...got full boat passes this morning for the crew. And it was actually pretty easy. Three of our four registration passcodes came through before anything sold out. Karma swings back into our favor.

No Marvel Panel in Hall H at Comic Con 2018?

During the Avengers: Infinity War press junket, Marvel Studios president and geek overlord, Kevin Feige, confirmed Marvel is skipping Comic-Con’s biggest showcase–the first time they’ve done so since 2015.

...

There are rumors that Feige is ready to step aside after a decade in the Marvel hot seat, and leave it to his successor to figure out the next wave of films. Alternately, Marvel could be waiting for the dust to settle on the Disney and Fox merger. Or perhaps Disney just wants to save everything for the next D23. Eventually, we will have all the answers – just not during Comic-Con.

By the time Comic Con comes around, won't Marvel have already released everything for their year?

Black Panther - February 16
Infinity War - April 27
Ant Man & The Wasp - July 7

Their next release would be... "Captain Marvel" next March.
