Fox Not Coming to Hall H in 2016?
http://sdccblog.com/2016/04/fox-not-coming-to-hall-h-in-2016/

Booooo
F'em! Right in the a!

[UPDATE] Comic-Con International has issued a statement to us and other outlets about piracy at the convention:
As any fan of Comic-Con knows there are a great many things that go into making a great panel presentation. For television networks and movie studios sometimes that includes exclusive footage, and while we have been very diligent in trying to prevent footage from being leaked, the truth is today’s technology makes any guarantee difficult.
We are working with our friends at the different studios and networks in hopes of finding a remedy that will be beneficial to them, us and most importantly the fans who make Comic-Con the best convention of its kind in the world.

While piracy may be the (un)official word given for this year’s absence from 20th Century Fox, it’s important to note that there may be other factors in play as well in the decision. Beyond Assassin’s Creed, which debuts in December, Fox may have simply decided they didn’t have enough to fill a complete programming block and opted to sit this year out.
And that doesn’t necessarily mean there will be no Fox films this year – Trolls is a DreamWorks Animation project and they’ve held their own panels before, and even Assassin’s Creed is co-produced with Ubisoft Motion Pictures, meaning they could show up without Fox technically attending. Stranger things have happened.

Funko Fundays Returns to San Diego Comic-Con 2016
http://sdccblog.com/2016/05/funko-fun-days-returns-to-san-diego-comic-con-2016/

Funko Fundays – the celebration for fans of all things Funko – is returning to San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, July 22, at 8PM (doors open at 6PM) at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego. Tickets for the event are $120, and will go on sale on Wednesday, June 1, at 12PM PT. Expect these to go fast.
You can read our review of last year’s event, but it’s a chance for attendees to hang out with fellow Funatics, as well as enjoy food, drinks (each attendee will get two drink tickets), and a chance to try to win “more prizes”, including one-of-a-kind prototypes. There will be life-sized Pop! characters, special guests, games, contests, and more. Best of all, no attendee leaves empty handed, as Funko gives a mystery Box O’ Fun to each attendee, which in the past has featured three Funko Pop!’s.

Love Funko, but $120 per. Pass.

The ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Cast Reportedly Had The Cops Called On Them At A Reunion
http://uproxx.com/tv/sons-of-anarchy-cops/

This weekend was supposed to be a treat for Sons of Anarchy fans living in Houston, Texas. The SAMCRO gang — including Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman, Kim Coates, Mark Boone, Jr., and Tommy Flanagan — was getting back together at Space City Comic Con. What could go wrong? Everything.

A source told Bleeding Cool that the reunion was “truly insane… I don’t know everything that happened but people definitely were scammed, money seems to have been stolen, celebrities fled, the staff may not have been paid, the cops were called on the cast of Sons of Anarchy, and a lot more true weirdness and pandemonium at a sparsely attended show in a huge convention hall.”

Official Ava Jade Cosplay, who attended the convention, got the story from Sons actor Rusty Coones (Rane Quinn). He said that the cast was informed the “credit card provided by the promoter would not be accepted,” and that “it would be cash only for their rooms.” Not a great way to take care of your guests. It also didn’t help that when Hunnam tried to deposit a check, he discovered it “was written from an account that had been CLOSED.” The entire cast went to confront the promoter, who in turn called the cops on them.

The panel schedule was completely jacked up, the cast was not given the correct times for photo ops and for panels. The Friday panel was canceled due to the AVI team refusing to allow anyone onstage until they were paid. They were promised payment upfront, instead they weren’t paid and pulled the plug on the event. The cast was all there waiting to go on. It seems that the event promoter broke the contract not once, but TWICE.

Our own Dr Destructo was in attendance and shared his take with me...hopefully he will come on here and share too.
It's a shame that a lot of these Cons are run by cons. According to all I have read, much respect to the SOA guys for staying despite the issues, in the name of pleasing the fans. Good on ya guys!

RUMOR: ‘Rogue One’ Writer Says Film May Skip San Diego Comic-Con 2016
http://sdccblog.com/2016/06/rumor-s...-says-film-may-skip-san-diego-comic-con-2016/

Although Whitta wrote one of the early drafts of Rogue One, he also departed the project in January 2015. Which means that even if Rogue One was having a panel at the convention, it seems unlikely that Whitta would be invited along to appear over Chris Weitz, who was hired to re-work the script and finish it off.

so, source is someone who has been disconnected for a while now. Means nothing. Not sure if staying away or coming is the best course for this movie. The rumor mill is spinning out of control.

‘Suicide Squad’ Set to Dominate Comic-Con 2016
http://collider.com/suicide-squad-comic-con-2016/

This is starting to look like a very undermanned Hall H year...which is kind of a relief. There will be the usual Game of Thrones/Walking Dead throngs, and I am pretty sure Marvel is going to show up. They have some stuff, Dr Strange in particular, that could probably use a nice little boost. James Gunn has hinted that GotG 2 might stop by...but I have to think Rogue One is going to tap out. And Fox has already said they aren't coming. No major Guillermo Del Toro stuff yet...but Legendary does have Kong/Skull Island to pimp, so that should be there. Like I said...a little of a down year. And that's ok. Because the overnight camping is getting tiresome. Nice to see Suicide Squad going all in...despite the studio griping, you can 'win' comicon if you get the crowd.

Is there anyone who has better packaging for their San Diego Comic-Con exclusives than Moebius Models? You won’t think so either when you see their last two exclusives, which honor the classic TV series Lost in Space.

The Jupiter 2 in 1/350th scale is approximately 1.75″ in diameter, and is hand painted and assembled. It features a “picture” interior, color background, inside a vintage TV display. Just like watching it in years gone by! Cardboard legs and antennae, protective outer sleeve. TV is approximately 4” square. $25. You can pre-order it now for pick-up at San Diego Comic-Con.

The Robot is 1/25th scale is just as awesome, with a stand measuring approximately 3.5” tall. Hand painted and assembled, full color background inside a vintage TV display. Cardboard legs and antennae, protective outer sleeve. TV is approximately 4” square. $25. You can pre-order it now for pick-up at SDCC.

oh man...and just $25
