All Things:SHOWTIME

Penny Dreadful starts sunday, also its a free preview weekend for those of you without Showtime (at least on Directv)
good to know!

I do plan however to start ripping off my buddy's showtime now account once I finish daredevil. Very excited for this.

Penny Dreadful S2 E2... fantastic. And uber creepy ending this week.

I like Penny Dreadful also. IN fact people talk about all the HBO shows and how terrific they are but for me Showtime is where it's at. Penny Dreadful, Nurse Jackie, Episodes, Shameless, Dexter, The Borgais, The Big C, The Tudors, Weeds and Ray Donovan. You can have your Game of Thrones and those other HBO things.

Also, Starz, Outlander and Black sails are really good.

I am finally watching/re-watching season one with the intention of getting past ep4...I am already a)seeing things I did not connect on the first time and b)enjoying it SO much more. Plus, by the time I get caught up, I will have benefitted from the binge factor. It truly is a BEAUTIFUL show, and the sound design is spectacular...yes, I am indulging in my surround sound...finally.

I like House of Lies.

Love House of Lies too. Missed the finale up here because the Canadian channel didn't update their episode data, and I believe it was 2 parts down there and I only saw the first. :( Need to go find it online with my TV provider.

http://collider.com/twin-peaks-season-3-happening-again/

Get ready for some damn good coffee. The Twin Peaks season 3 miniseries is a go! After some public disagreements with Showtime, it seems series creators David Lynch and Mark Frost have resolved their issues with the network and are moving forward with the planned 9-episode series. Check out Lynch’s celebratory tweet below and break out the cherry pie.

Dear Twitter Friends, the rumors are not what they seem ….. It is !!! Happening again. #TwinPeaks returns on @SHO_Network

David Lynch to Direct 18 New Episodes of Twin Peaks
http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/103480/david-lynch-to-direct-18-new-episodes-of-twin-peaks/

After all of the behind-the-scenes drama involving the upcoming season of “Twin Peaks,” fans could certainly use some good news. Here you go: Not only has David Lynch worked out his problems with the folks at Showtime, the acclaimed filmmaker will reportedly direct a whopping 18 episodes of the next installment of the cult favorite. That’s definitely a cause for celebration.

If that’s not enough to get you insanely excited for the new episodes, then you should seriously consider this: According to Welcome to Twin Peaks, frequent Lynch collaborator Angelo Badalamenti will compose new music for Showtime’s “Twin Peaks” reboot.

Somewhere, the dwarf in the red suit is dancing a hypnotic jig.

Finally, to ensure that the new episodes feature the same unnerving atmosphere as the original run, Lynch and company will shoot the forthcoming season in North Bend and Snoqualmie, Washington. This includes transforming Twede’s Cafe into the Double R Diner once again.

The new episodes of “Twin Peaks,” which begin shooting this September, should arrive on Showtime next year. And as Agent Dale Cooper once said, “I have no idea where this will lead us, but I have a definite feeling it will be a place both wonderful and strange.”

Last night's PD was probably a first for any TV episode with all the... spoiler free... horizontal... action.

And sure Brona is a good take on a twist of the book character family, but the entire show revolves around Vanessa and what's going on with her. Her flashback Ep last year was great but this year's flashback Ep will be winning an award... if voters don't ignore it.

Penny Dreadful is so wonderfully creepy and weird. I love it. This season has been really great so far.

**SPOILERS FOR THE LAST EPISODE**

Vanessa met Brona before....how did she not recognize her as Lily?! ****'s about to go down though. Caliban's going to be pissed AND I can't wait to see what Ethan does when he finds out Victor reanimated his girlfriend and is now ****ing her. Yikes.

Showtime Renews PENNY DREADFUL for Season 3
http://collider.com/penny-dreadful-renewed-season-3-showtime/

still taking in season 1...I tell you, it is worth rewatching, because the first four, that I had already seen...I definitely picked up some subtle things i didn't get the first time around. I keep hearing great things about s2. I also read somewhere that this was a clever re-skinning of Moore's League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which it kinda is.

Showtime’s Streaming Service Will Launch on Hulu in July
http://collider.com/showtime-streaming-service-will-launch-on-hulu-in-july/

Another victory for the cord-cutters. Showtime’s standalone streaming service has been a long time in coming, and today the premium network announced that it will be partnering with Hulu to distribute that service, presumably to tap into Hulu’s already steady consumer share (which currently numbers close to nine million subscribers).

So, (according to Vulture’s Joe Adalian, as this wasn’t in the press release) Hulu subscribers will be able to add Showtime for $8.99, $2 less than via Apple. That means the total cost for a Hulu + Showtime subscription would be $16.98. And, apparently, the Showtime content streamed via Hulu will not feature any ads (one of the major complaints about Hulu by subscribers).

OK...WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME...that season one of Penny Dreadful COMPLETELY crushed it by the finale'???? I was so scared of watching, thinking it was going nowhere. The Mina thing wrapped a little short, but all in all the perfect mix of satisfying storylines and opening up new ones. And then, after that revelation, I watched the first episode of this season. Woo Boy...lemme catch my breath. Right out of the gate...flying. Guess y'all who get tired of me hammering the same shows over and over(Rectify/Black Sails/Ripper Street) got a new one to deal with. They finally got the story matched with the stunning visuals and really strong performances. Rory Kinnear's Creature is just amazing to watch...simply amazing. That first season...f u emmy voters!!!!!
