All Things: Streaming TV Options

The Twilight Zone TV Reboot Will Begin Production Soon

Odd. It feels like CBS is loading up their Streaming service at the expense of Network crap. I mean, these streaming shows have bigger stars, and more MONEY for high concept stuff like Star Trek. Is network, or 'free' tv finally learning that there just is no money in free. Theaters are gonna take another hit to an already threatened industry when 'original content' starts having higher budgets than big screen flicks.

Anyone watch this? Action Bronson and crew just stumble around and eat at interesting places and just kinda keep talking. Like it.

JD: Yes, I love this show. Action used to be a line cook in New York prior to making it as a Rapper. His youtube show was just him on tour eating stoner food after a show. But it evolved into something beautiful. Now he goes to amazing locations, supports small local restaurants, orders everything on the menu and then if he likes he dish he'll go back in the kitchen and ask the chef if they can cook that dish together. Awesome!

Admittedly a little bias because i'm sweet on big guys but he seems so kind, humble and genuine, it makes it a fun show to watch.

Yes, it's still stoners being dumb and there is no real "take away" but absolutely visually interesting. If you like travel shows and food shows this show will surprise you with its' heart.

I haven't decided if I am going to watch this. Either way, the best thing that Tom Clancy's work has inspired has been the Rainbow Six video games, haha. :D

I'm one episode in, and I dug it. 24 in the middle east, or very Strike Back-ish (sans the pervasive nudity a single episode in). Curse John Krasinski for being so damn likeable.

OK, I've got a question that I should probably already know but I don't. If I drop my cable subscription down to basic "over the air" channels (ie No more FOX Sports for example) can I still use my Roku or Fire TV to subscribe to the NHL network and get the Kings games there?

I don't quite know how all this works anymore. I've always thought you need a cable subscription before you can order the local team sports. I know HBO used to be that way until HBO Now (or is it HBO GO?) came along. But I'm not sure if this works for sports or hockey specifically.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you're in the LA area, NHL Network or NHL Center Ice won't show you Kings games. But you can get FSW with one of the streaming services and you don't need cable.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking I'd save some dough doing it this way but I'll bet the Cable company will get their pound of flesh no matter what. If I dump cable TV (or actually just get basic cable) I'll bet they jack up the internet costs to make up for it. When all is said and done it'll probably cost me the same. Bastards!

My internet is around $70 and DirectvNow to get FSW and Prime it is $40. That includes the discount for being AT&T wireless subscriber and that includes free HBO. About $40 less than I was paying in cable a month.
