All Things: Streaming TV Options

Just finished Vigil on Peacock. If you don't mind scottish accents, it's a fun murder mystery on a nuclear sub. And Rose Leslie is in it.

ok , can someone smarter than me explain this?

Disney bought part of Fox and was forced to sell off the RSNs (now known as Bally's sports) because the FTC had monopoly concerns ( because one entity would have too big of a market share), but they are now allowed to team up to form Voltron with TNT/TBS and have all the content in one place??
You are not going to like this either. 😂

I'm sure it's been discussed somewhere in this thread, but I'll toss this out anyway in 2025.

I really need to cut the cord as my bill has skyrocketed using Spectrum. I've only kept them around because we had a good promotion and I was able to watch the Kings/Dodger games.

Has anyone had any success moving away from cable and going to streaming while keeping our local sports/channels? I know the broadcast schedule for Kings games is all over the map currently so it would take some work. I'd entertain using the NHL app if that were an option.

I'd really love any feedback I could get.

I have Directv but am in the same scenario. I use it pretty much for Kings, Dodgers, EPL, ESPN and maybe 5 other channels at best. They already took the Galaxy away from me. I think if the Kings went streaming I might actually cut the cord, but DVR is just so much more convenient than having to switch through apps.

The only streaming service that provides Dodgers games via Spectrum Sportsnet is Directv Stream. Kings and local channels are available also. If you really want to watch the Dodgers, this is your only option that I am aware of. The minimum package is the Choice package at $115 ($95 for 3 months when you sign up).

Fubo tv has the Kings and local channels (not sure if they have ALL local channels). Quick check of their lineup, they seem to have mostly less known/watched channels. They are geared more towards the sports fan but no dodgers.

Another option without Dodgers is to get Fanduel streaming for the Kings at $20/months and pick your own streamer like YouTube tv, Sling tv etc.

I would check out Streaming Made Simple and search for your shows/channels/teams that you want and it will tell you what streaming services they are on.

The Bear (season 4-Hulu):

Reluctantly going back for more after last season. Although, I am a fan of when shows take risks and season three of The Bear took big swings(as cooks say: being too chefy), that may have alienated, well, all of us. Hello, my life.

But, for the most part the conflict in the show characters' and how those scenes are shot and explored, have in the past given me anxiety. The money problems, family in fighting, substance abuse, imposter syndrome, deadbeat friends you can't let go and undiagnosed mental illness in a parent are all universal topics but damn, ease me into that warm bath of emotion. They pair it with a low-fi, 90's & alt rock soundtrack to counterbalance the visual chaos. It can be a lot, like mute the episode and just read the subtitles, a lot. Positives: the food looks pretty, all the people in the show have heart/depth and despite it all, Carmy is trying his best to make his dream work. Good luck, my dude, we are all rooting for you.

Lightening things up a tad: Is it just me, or do you also just want to see at least one episode of just (bad) cousin Richie and semi-mobbed up uncle Jimmy having goofy adviseral South Side adventures?
