All Things: TELEVISON

I bewilder myself on this one.... I seriously can't figure out why I keep watching it.

Simon Pegg Circles L.A. NOIR, Ulrich Thomsen Joins BANSHEE

After what’s been years of successful action/comedy/horror films for Simon Pegg, the versatile actor is now reportedly looking to the small screen for a more dramatic project in L.A. Noir. Pegg is circling as a guest star in the pilot written and directed by Frank Darabont. He will join lead actor Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead), as well as Neil McDonough (Minority Report) and Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes) in the TNT period drama. Set in the 1940s and 1950s, L.A. Noir chronicles the war between the LAPD’s Captain William Parker (McDonough) and the mobster, Mickey Cohen. Bernthal stars as Joe Teague, an ex-Marine turned LAPD cop who gets caught up in the conflict, while Ventimiglia stars as a former Marine who served with Teague in WWII and becomes a lawyer for the mob. THR reported on Pegg circling a guest role, but so far there are few details as to his character.

It's kind of like a tutorial in horrible television tho....

some of the characters are just so insanely god awfully rotten that it's almost fun waiting to see how badly they'll be mishandled.

Like the teenage son.

My.... god.

Worst written and performed character I think I've ever seen.

It's spellbinding.

NBC Renews Grimm for Another Season | Horror Movie, DVD, & Book Reviews, News, Interviews at Dread Central

Not a surprise, it's one of the only shows NBC has that isn't in last place in it's time slot. The ratings for Awake apparently started out soft and have dropped so, sadly I don't expect that to even finish out it's first season in the time slot it's in if at all.

Thats too bad. I really like Awake. Its very well written. And it has the girl from Terriers. :cbgb2:

I may have been out of it but I really didn't think the premiere of South Park this week was funny at all.

Got caught up on Awake last night. LOVE it. I liked the other show from it's creator, Lone Star...which got a whopping 1 episode run on Fox. This is a lot like that. A man, split between two worlds. I like the hints of a superplot and the way they transition from one dream to the other while taking clues back and forth. It's a real smart show and it has some truly touching moments. Good acting for the most part, always liked BD Wong/Isaacs and having a cast member of Terriers ain't ever gonna hurt in my eyes. His partners in both halves are kind of weak link-y, but I can deal. I hope that NBC takes a chance on this and lets it try to find an audience because there is a real good story here.

I liked them until I realized that the younger one was Wilmer Valderrama.

I thought that casting the leader of the Aliens from the Event in a VERY similar role was a bit of a mistake too. She's a good actress, and good for the part...but it's too close/soon and brings up bad memories.
