Yesterday afternoon we were anxious to hit up the "Disneyland Classics", we arrived at Disney land at 4:00pm. We just missed boarding the Columbia (no big deal, we wanted to ride the Mark Twain). As we waited just outside the turnstile of the waiting area, a CM told us that the Mark Twain may or may not be boarding as it pulls in. (around 4:15pm) After it pulled in and was secured to the dock, the CM then told us it was out of commission for the day. After we headed to NOS to catch the train, we saw the Mark Twain depart sans guests, and make another trip around the ROA. Not sure what the issue was though.
The line for the DLRR looked nuts at NOS, as it wound around Magnolia Park and CM's were estimating it was a 30+ minute wait. In reality, it was only 20 minutes or so. We boarded the last car of the train and were surprised that there was only about 12 people total on it, including the 3 (plus our 2 year old) in our group. The new track they laid down is very smooth, so much so that it feels like you are on a subway and not a train, I miss the clank of the wheels rolling over the track on that section. After the tunnel heading into the TT station, the track is the old track (according to a Conductor we talked to) and you could feel and here and feel the rhythmatic clank-cuh-clank of the rails. The new narration and script will take awhile to get used to, the voice sounds flat, and the tone of the script feels a bit too casual for my liking. They did a fantastic job though on the new scenery and there is so much to look at now that I'll have to ride it many times to take it all in.
You could only board at NOS and had a choice to get off at MS, but you HAD to get off at NOS.
