***Alt Music Thread***

Ok so I believe I posted this in the Punk thread a couple of years ago.

Sharks ( Not "The Sharks" which is a Rockabilly band out of Australia, or a crappy, cheap shot team out of SJ) out of Leaming Spa England, when they first came out they were praised by many a Brit music mag, most notably, Vive Le Rock, which is one of my faves. In fact I discovered this band from that mag.

Anyway this is probably my favourite song by them, they sound like a combo of The Clash and the Jam!

Give it a listen!

King Missile and Ween. This the the playlist of the criminally insane. Ha! You guys get nuts after midnight and bring your A game. Keep it going.

So to back santiclaws here are two of the weirder vids I have seen in a while. Both fairly recent tunes (compared to the stuff we have been postin'), both vids involve a lot of blood and stabbing. But the music is way different.

Crank it up, but don't let young kids watch.

Grimes a weird girl outta Vancouver but I sorta like her style

Cherry Glazerr, L.A. band took there name from a KCRW radio reporter. I at the start said weird vid, this one is psycho, I said don't let kids watch it, there is a parental advisory warning at the start. Also the chick playing the psycho serial killer, at over 21 shows likes to play topless.

Wierd eh? That being said I would not mind having drink or hanging out with both these artists.

Dooode. Yiiiiikes. But, Im down for a theme...

Well, the Dead South definitely has elements of bluegrass, the banjo being the most obvious. They also include elements of rock, folk, roots, folk and blues in their music. Nathaniel Rateliff, on the other hand, doesn't sound anything like bluegrass, really. Soul, blues, R&B, rock, yes. I wouldn't call them bluegrass at all. But, really, there's a lot of cross-pollination in most, if not all, styles of American music. It is often difficult to put something solidly in one category. You can say that punk has its roots in gospel music, and you really wouldn't be wrong.

I mean, this has a banjo, an accordion and a bunch of crazy Finns including a guy playing an anvil with a wrench. You wanna tell me exactly which category this belongs to?

Bluegrass novelty cover. I like it.

Alt hot girls getting drunk at a slumber party...
