Byfield

I haven’t been here that long but one of my first posts was dedicated to my absolute support of QB given all the grief he’s gotten from his detractors on this board over the last couple seasons. It was in that very post that given his size…attitude and obvious skill level he would and should be a ‘monster’. I’ve seen that word echoed frequently here since…and rightly so. Tonite’s goal was the one where anyone around the NHL…player or coach…was compelled to shake their heads in total agreement of that description. Size…skill…and absolute confidence. Monster? How about Godzilla? That goal was a league-wide announcement that he has arrived and about to breathe fire on an NHL city near you. I am QB…are you hearing the roar?

Yep. Loud and clear kid.

you know i didnt realize that was an end to end off the face off.. i didn't notice at first either that he got his stick knocked and was 1 handing it at one point.. i mean... holy sh*t. "goal of the year" - NHL

Here’s a scary stat. He was 2nd in forward TOI, and he doesn’t kill penalties.
Yep, I think from a combination of him being arguably the Kings best forward for a while and the team being short a winger.

Another stat for him, he continues to lead the team with a +/- of +18

He also lifted Warenski's stick after he jumped around him but it's really hard to see because it happened in about 0.1 of a second.

All at near top speed. The reaction time alone is elite. To process all of those things and have the coordination and strength to do them is almost beyond comprehension.

Wonder what kinda odds I could have gotten at the beginning of the season for Byfield to finish with more goals than PLD....
