GDT ***Colorado Avalanche vs. Los Angeles Kings GDT 3/2/26 7:30pm on FanDuel***

Good effort tonight - the big question is will these kids stick or go back to Ontario when the wave of injuries and sickness abates...

Just think how good this team would have been,if Luc(the Fluke) and Holland would have fired Jim(the filler)Hiller at the end of the playoffs after his disastrous squandering 2-0 series lead vs the Oilers, and even had DJ Smith as the new HC.Oh well,

Kings have lacked an identity all season. Tonight they showed flashes of finally picking a lane. They showcased a max effort heavy forecheck style. Light on skill but heavy on the hustle. That’s why we all enjoyed watching that honorable loss. Yes they got smoked by the best team in the league but they didn’t cheat themselves or anybody paying to watch this game.

The final result speaks to the limit of what that kind of game plan results in versus the elite teams but if they can play with that type of purpose for the final 6 weeks of the season they’re going to win more than they lose that’s for sure.

Well, not the result I was hoping for when I hid in my room at work and watched the last minutes of the game. But still one of the most fun games this season and I loved the new energy they showed!! This was not the zombie like hockey Hiller forced them to play....

Now I hope DJ let the kids play, even when we get the injured players back!!

Good news is that the Kings have just about the easiest schedule down the stretch, and it just got easier getting this one out of the way.
Every team in the East besides the Rangers have more wins than the Kings. The Kings are 1-6 in their last 7 games beating only one team behind them in the standings. I'm not sure about an easy schedule for the Kings. I apologize if you were being sarcastic. It's early for me.

Well Nyssa got her points fest and I think most of the fanbase found reasons to engage with the roster even as depleted as it was. Maybe some would say that was a feature and not a bug. I'll admit the game flow looked much stronger even if there were the pushes in the game where the Ave's just dominated. Probably a function of the skaters getting regular shifts all game as opposed to the short benches we've become accustomed to. 22 games for this roster to do what it can and not assume anything sure sounds a whole lot more worth watching than a roster that "just needed to get into the tourney" and was assuming that first part.

I feel bad for Kopitar. To go out on a whimper shouldn't have been his swan song.
Never expected a Cup this year, but to go out head held high knowing the team gave it all would have been sweet ... but, such in life, as in sports - things don't always go the way you envision.
