Congrats to Quickie on #400

Rangers are pretty terrible so I'm happy he got it today rather than having to wait another week or two for a start (plus with the 4NT).

370 in LA
25 in NY
5 in Vegas
With the addition of JT Miller, Rangers will make the playoffs - guaranteed. Quick will get another run in the playoffs.

Congrats to Quickie. What a story he’s written for himself. Probably doesn’t have the resume to get in the HOF but he absolutely should get his number retired and his own statue outside of Staples.

Since Quick left (stupid Blake), I have been tracking Jonathan Quick's stats solely for Hall of Fame argument reasons.

Loved it when he passed HoFers Vernon and Hasek for wins. Then Miller to be unarguably the best American goalie ever. I've been waiting patiently for this one for him. Now he's 15th on the all-time wins list. Up next is passing Osgood then Fuhr (who coincidentally has the greatest tenure of any Kings goalie).

Congrats on #400, Quickie!

You really don’t think he gets HOF?
First US goalie with 400 wins (only like 14 others have that many) and two Cups. I’d think he’s a lock.
I’m sincerely curious why you don’t think he gets in.

1 Vezina and 1 All Star appearance. His career stats look a lot like Chris Osgood and Ryan Miller. Personally I think he’s better than both but most voters didn’t watch him every night for 16 seasons like we did. It’s gonna tough.

You mean 1 Conn Smythe? Quick never won the Vezina (though he should have in 2012). He's in the HOF. True, most voters may not have watched him every night, but 400 wins speaks for itself.

Appreciate the answer.
Good points. I honestly didn’t think it was even a question. I guess we will see.

The hall has been notoriously tough on goalies, they are underrepresented by far. It has been helped lately with recent classes making up for this however even amongst his peers there's going to be Bobby Lou, Henrik, Brodeur (who shouldn't even count considering how long he played on top of everything else), Miller and Osgood.

I have this argument all the time here with Chicago fans who cant' understand why Cory Crawford won't be in the Hall. Granted I think Quick's ability to stay relevant in NY is going to vastly improve his chances but they always had the same argument ( 2 cups to 2 cups, but Chicago is way more deserving than LA). And I really hate to say it but Quickie is now a 3 time cup winner. Name is on there, remember they don't ask how, they ask how many.

In any case, his chances are vastly improved over if he had retired when he was traded. But it's still going to be at the whimsey of the 18 voters.

It took him a little longer to reach this milestone. In fact - he's gotten lit up in the majority of his last few starts.

Correct. I was thinking Conn Smythe and typed Vezina. It’s always going to come down to how the voters perceive the player vs. his peers right? I think there’s a chance that Quick at his peak is viewed on par with Hank, Luongo and Fleury (lock for the HOF). Again I think he definitely was as good as those guys on his best days for a very big portion of his career.

If I had a vote Quick is 100% in but a lot of the voters will look at his stats and wonder why they weren’t just a little bit better not remembering how bad the Kings were until they weren’t. And then forgetting how bad things got post 2014 once his body started to really break down.

Quick is definitely a HOF'er. First ballot. 400 wins and counting, 3 Cups (so far), Conn Smythe, Jennings, etc.

Happy for him.
