***Dallas Stars vs. LA Kings GDT 1/19/23 7:30pm on BSW***

One bright spot: Walker had an excellent game. Lots of hustle. No goals against scored during his 16:53 of ice time.

Mikey Anderson with a great game as well. And Kupari out there hustling every shift, too.
Interesting that the King's players who looked good to me are 3 of our biggest guys. Dallas was just manhandling everyone else all night long - they were making hits like it was game 7 of a playiff round.
Can't believe I don't have to drive to the Stapler until Feb 11th!

Oh, and at least VGK lost, too!

You can't put it ALL on the goalie, but what Copley did last night is what the other two were doing all year. Kings were forechecking, Dallas was too, both teams were in it - BRUTAL goal and it's all downhill from there. That's what Copley was providing - adequate goaltending, not surprised he let in the three nice scoring chances (would be nice to stop one of them) but that first one is the goal that puts them behind the eight ball immediately. First time he's really done that, so he deserves another chance but if this became a pattern then you may as well go with one of the other two and hope they figure it out.

They have. four winnable games coming right up so hopefully this one just shook the rust out. Division is very tight with everyone caught up as we knew it would be. Going to get real interesting.

According to moneypuck, Kings now have a 68.7% chance of making the playoffs...down considerably from a couple weeks ago if I remember correctly.

Vegas, Seattle, Calgary and Edm all with higher percentages at this point. Unfortunately, I tend to agree with their prediction. I hope I'm wrong but my gut is telling me the inconsistency is back to stay and EDM and Calgary will catch them pretty quickly after the all star break...if not before depending on how this road trip goes. I've tried not to get too excited about their recent success but the last 3 games, even including SJ, gave me an uneasy feeling. They have to win against Chicago, Nashville and Philly on the roadie and hopefully manage to steal one against FLA, TB or Carolina. You just never know with this team...they could go 6-0 or 0-6 on the trip.

Well I'm glad that I slept through most of that game, it's unfortunate that the kings appear to have done the same. Not sure what there is to draw from a game like that, I get the despondency of a fanbase that's seen an effort like that before. The game on Saturday will tell us more about if those things we saw creeping into their games before the break are still there or not. Whilst I was concious though I continued to notice Kupari's play, particularly on the PK. I'd say he's going to hold that 4th line center job before long if not higher. Aside from that, this game better be a trash tape or it will be the end of the Andy Murray reign all over again.

One last bit of Poll response novelty. All users that play the poll and have a user name that begins with a K got points in that one. Hats off to you:

Quality of competition has a lot to do with that. Calgary has the best schedule coming up and Edmonton’s is mostly favorable until the trade deadline as well. Kings’ isn’t awful though. With you on not knowing to expect though.

That said, CAL still hasn’t put it together yet and VEG is slipping in net so I don’t know what to expect from them either. Central isn’t nearly as competitive this year and a 4-4 team split looks likely. We’re in for a ride.

Dallas scored 4 goals on 24 SA. Kings scored 0 goals on 34 SA.

How many quality shots. The Kings could have 50 shots doesn't mean they outplayed the Stars. The Kings beat the sharks over a week ago, however, were outplayed.

I agree they are winnable; however, they have been outplayed the last three and they were lucky to win one.

Come on, Kings.... You've come from 4-0 to beat the Stars before.... Let's do it again!! (What was that, like 20 years ago now??) Geez, I'm so old

I believe that was the first game I took my son to, great comeback.

I guessed 5 as well per my previous post. :-)

Go Kings!!

I agree they are winnable; however, they have been outplayed the last three and they were lucky to win one.

And went 7-2-1 prior to that beating some strong teams. No one has a reasonable prediction about the next four games. But I’m glad it’s NSH, CHI, PHI, and FL because at least it’s not WPG, EDM, CAR, VEG, etc. at the moment.

A bunch of my sisters are going to that Nashville game, cant wait to hear about it from them.

My wife and I are heading out to Nashville in the coming months to see about purchasing another home outside of Nashville on a lake. No state income tax!

I looked up at some point about middle of the 3rd and we had 32 SOG, and I was like, "when the heck did we get that many SOG??" Most of those 32 were terrible quality shots - most from way off to the sides.

forgot to say in my other post that the Stars PK is amazing. Not just because we didn't score on it - but, man, they were just EVERYWHERE on it. Their defense overall is sooo good. Big, FAST, and not afraid to hit!

I'm going to the Carolina game on the 31st may god have mercy on the Kings. Actually very excited. I haven't been to any Kings game since I moved out of CA in 2016?
