Elliotte Friedman: Chychrun May Be Available

I'm only on page 12. I have to have those longer page settings or I'd feel like I'm wasting my life here instead of being a contributing member of society.

You people on page 48, you should do something productive with your lives. It's a beautiful day. Go outside!

We just got home from a day trip to Solvang and Los Olivos. It was so beautiful up there today!

12 pages! You are a productive member of society. Talk about efficiency.

I get out of the office for my 15 minutes of yard time. What a beaut today.

Love that area. My girlfriend picks up her club bottles from one of the winemakers in Los Olivos 2 or 3 times a year. We like the bouldering nearby in Lizard’s Mouth also. Usually make it a camping trip. doesn’t get old.

Lived in Santa Barbara for three years before moving to Denver a year ago. Belonged to five wineries in the Los Olivos area, went there about twice a month and lover it there. Still get wine delivered to Denver

Maybe the kid is trying to tank his trade value because I'm not seeing a King's Ransom

What were your favorites? We really enjoy the wines from Stolpman, Brewer-Clifton and Tensley.

Have you been to Sanford in Lompoc/Santa Rosa Road? Definitely a favorite. Kunin in the SB Funk Zone is great too. Totally agree with you on Stolpman.

They love him on twitter....I don't see it. I have this horrible feeling that if Gabe gets sent to Arizona it's gonna bite us in the posterior. But that's why I'm not Rob Blake.

I also had, and still have, high hopes for Vilardi. But where should all kids play? The longer it goes without them getting (earning) a regular place in the line-up their trade value just keeps dropping. You draft good to get either players for your line-up or assets to use in trades, the time to decide which regarding several of our prospects are closing in!

But in Blake we trust!!

Yeah totally. I think so far the only ones who have earned a promotion, but remain in the minors, are: Vilardi, JAD and Spence (Frk too but that seems unlikely to happen with the Kings). Likely we have room for all except Spence at the start of next season.

Madden, Fagemo, Tkachev, Turcotte, Grans, and Kupari are close, and Clarke may make a push next season too, so I agree while Blake has a little time to figure things out, it's not much.

Clarke can't make a push, he's either in the NHL or in junior. If Hoven is to be believed, the Kings expect him to play in LA next season. Faber is the one who's going to make a push, and likely be good enough to earn a spot at some point during the season next season. So I don't think Blake has much time to figure things out, he needs to start wheeling and dealing.

When it comes to the forwards and that logjam, the real question is do we trust Moore? I mean he's on a hell of a streak. Does upper management think it's real? Can Kaliyev outplay him for top six time? I love the way Moore plays with Danault but to me it's one of the more pressing concerns about how to proceed. Almost think it's worth mortgaging a bit of future just to see what happens to him in a playoff series.

Good call on Faber, so that leaves likely a lack of room for both him and Spence as it currently aligns. Really hope the Kings deal a vet or two from the D line in the off season. After keeping a close eye on Clarke this season, I'd be surprised if he was ready next season. Given we don't project to have a space for him (without a few trades taking place), why rush him?

I'd like to see this with Lizotte and Arvidsson as well - how well do all three hold up in a playoff series and how effective can they be. Kaliyev is probably still at least another season out of top 6, but hopefully we see him lined up with Byfield on the third line next season which really should show us what we have in him.

No offense to Lizzote but if his performance in the playoffs means anything, well that better be because the rest of the team is carrying them deep. I'll allow that this season they may need to shelter Q in the playoffs if he's still centering the third line and there's bound to be some inconsitency in Q's play which will require more time from Lizotte. But the reality is that if they need 12 mins or more a night from Lizotte to make damage in the playoffs, I just don't see it happening.

Arvidsson has been a mixed bag in the playoffs before but I'm willing to trust him a bit, or at least be more concerned about Moore's performance than his. Danaults definitely not going to be the concern. I know that sometimes in the playoffs a center wing pair becomes more dominant on the scoresheet than a whole line. Right now my concern is Moore's been doing a lot of little things with his speed and space, and I'm not sure that his speed is going to be compatible with the lack of space that the playoffs provide.

I'm honestly convinced Clarke is going back to Jr's and its not going to be a big deal. This is the hype machine talking over at mayors manor. If Clarke making the roster was somehow key to Blakes plan it would pretty much be the antithesis of what he's done so far.

With Clarke, the issue is probably not so much the Kings depending on him being in the lineup but whether you're wasting a year of his development by putting him back in junior. He's obliterating the OHL, I'm not sure he has anything left to learn at that level. It'll be even easier for him next season if he goes back, and at some point if things are too easy you start developing bad habits. Byfield was in the same situation and the Kings got lucky that he could play for the Reign last season. It'd be great if Clarke could play in the A next season, but he can't.

Drysdale is playing for the Ducks at 19, and he's not playing protected minutes, he's playing against the other teams' top lines as much as the Ducks' other top defensemen. Is Clarke at that level? I don't know.

One more tidbit on Faber - not only was he leading the US team in TOI, he had the second TOI average in the entire Olympics. He's pretty close to being ready for the NHL. With Spence putting up big numbers and Grans really improving, it is a real logjam on the right side. It's a good problem to have, but it's still a problem.

Walker & Roy, to me, were always stop gap players. They've had enough time to develop and haven't. Maybe they would elsewhere?
It sucks Walker lost this year but, that's pro sports. Move both of them & Maatta goes bye bye. That's 3 spots now open for the kids/trades.
I'd have no issue having Edler come back to mentor the kids cos his play was steady & solid. We shall see.

Great assesment. Dursi and Anderson took their spots and lunch money. Roy, Walker and Maata are dime a dozen 5/6/7 D on any contender.

With Drew looking like he's got at least another 2-3 peak years left, and some impressive performances from prospects and rookies the Kings are suddenly loaded at RD.

Would be a master stroke to build a package around Grans + Spence + 2022 1st + 2023 2nd. Not sure what that nets you, but that is a lot of value, and a definite sell high on Spence. I like the kid, but I think Durzi and Clarke make him expendable.
