Guess the Kopitar Extension Thread (2 yr extension signed. 7M AAV)

Ok peeps, although it’s probably a ways out, guess what Kopitar’s likely extension is.

I’m throwing out a flat, 3 year, $13.5M ($4.5M per season AAV).

I said it would be 3 years between 3.5 to 5.5 per. I will glad compromise in the middle.

I would say 4-5 mil a year. Probably 3 years, but I worry that some crackpot team might make a serious bid to get him with a bloated contract.

Hopefully, this gets resolved before FA.

One year, 6 million AAV, with multiple bonuses. He'll be 37 when a new contract would begin. I think (hope!) he'll do one year deals until he retires. Makes sense for both sides.

I certainly wouldn’t blame the Kings for doing 2 years for slightly less guaranteed, but I prefer something closer to what you said. And I think the performance incentives are now de rigueur.
