How many games for Nurse?

I'd be surprised at 7 but that's at least what's deserved. Been awhile since I've seen such a deliberate intent to injure. They got the camera on the refs iPad and I'm just wondering what's going thru the ref's head cause that looked terrible.

The guy has 4 other suspensions - I mean how they gonna keep a dude like this around?

FWIW, Wyshynski and Spector speculated it’ll be a game or two if Byfield is injured. The league does take injuries or non-injuries into account when assessing suspensions so if not much comes back it could be a good sign.

Something that criminal and cowardly matched with Nurse’s history should warrant a 5 game suspension, but I see something minimal coming back regardless. 3 games max.

Zero cuz he's better for us on the ice
Should be at least 3 given his history. The oil nation is gonna spring a major leak on hf boards!

I know they are delusional but thus takes the cake. They are not talking hockey but slapshot type plays during the 1st round.

My guess it will only be at the most,a 3 game suspension for Nurse,SJ and then the first 2 games in the first round. It should be atleast 5-7 games for intent to injure, but as hokiecat mentioned what Fox said,it will be 1+1.

My guess is 7, including playoffs.
What should he get and what he will get…
Your comment about 7 is the correct answer. But I have little faith in the Department of Player Safety.

A repeat offender who goes after a defenseless player is the most inexcusable offense. I think he should be out for the entire first round.
My hunch is at most he will get two or three games.

A few thoughts on the game itself with regard to the Oilers behavior …

I don’t know if Danault is right about the B team trying to hurt the Kings players. We are too far removed and can’t possibly know what the strategy was.

I did find it a bit interesting watching “who” the targets were. Obviously Danault took some hits early (although he was not at all shy about doing some hitting himself), Perry went after QB behind the net and of course Nurse going after him, and Clarke was getting a lot of attention.

Was there a concerted effort to go after the Kings Center depth? Was there an effort to go after the Kings Defensive depth (or test Clarke and his ability to handle the physical play)?

I did not like the goon strategy from the Oilers that seemed clear. Was it the strategy or did it just happen? If it was strategy was it also connected to having McDavid, Draisital and Hyman off the ice?

This type of behavior is not good for the game. Dirty play and cheap shots are unacceptable. I did feel things were better in the third period with less nonsense. But I also wondered about the Oilers coaching staff.
The first two periods were not good. Were the coaches OK with it, or were they unable to control it?

I think it was interesting that Hiller was pretty unresponsive post-game. I think it was wise to not speak out. I also give the Kings credit for not getting caught up in the dirty play. That was strong coaching in my opinion.

We will see what the suspension decision is. I want a statement from the NHL about this type of play.
I also don’t know how much it means for the series. Nurse isn’t much of a player. Are the Oilers better with or without him in the lineup?
