This is really on the money as it exposes the blatant hypocrisy of the NHL as they talk a good game but won’t police the players who cause brain injuries. This leauge and its DOPS is an embarrassment…
So a repeat offender intentionally hurts one of our best players with a cowardly cheap shot to the head and he gets to rest for one completely meaningless game so he gets fresh for the playoffs! This in a league that currently struggles with head injuries and have a history with handling these injuries so badly that ex-players commit suicide because their brains are all smashed up.
F… them and F… the Oiler scumbags! The ONLY correct response to this is to let Malott and Jeanott revenge this during game 1…
It's all about the $$$ and this kind of drama is good for ratings. Player safety is an afterthought in situations like these. This is really on the money as it exposes the blatant hypocrisy of the NHL as they talk a good game but won’t police the players who cause brain injuries.
Parros is either a total joke or he’s just a puppet. Either makes him an embarrassment.
So, do I have this right about the reports on the suspension decision…It's all about the $$$ and this kind of drama is good for ratings. Player safety is an afterthought in situations like these.
But hey, maybe Nurse will win the King Clancy this year - I know Edmonton fans feel he should.
A couple things rolling around my head since the disgraceful exhibition with Edmonton…Perry is a POS but at least he didn't lie. Sad thing is he feels no need to hide it as both he, and his team, know the NHL won't do anything about it.
The League desperately wants a Canadian Cup winner. This judgement obviously reflects that bias. This leauge and its DOPS are an embarrassment…

I think targeting McDavid with every "clean" hit possible is the correct strategy. Get him in a corner and blast him into the seats. My biggest concern is how no King especially Fiala who was right there did absolutely nothing to Nurse. I know he's not a fighter but you know after the game in the Oilers locker room there was a sense of empowerment that that could be done to one of our best players and nothing was done about it. To me in part although yes #97 and #29 beat us the last 3 years almost singlehandedly we were also bullied in all 3 series as well. I know it's the playoffs but if someone doesn't go after Nurse on the first shift(I don't mean with a cheap shot) that sets a tone of the Oilers bullying us for a 4th straight series so I hope Jeannot is ready as this is the exact type of situation he was brought in for.
For sure, Edmonton is scared to face the Kings and is trying to hedge their bets in advance (either through intimidation or injury). The Kings have shown a lack of ability to push back, in the past, when things get nasty.A couple things rolling around my head since the disgraceful exhibition with Edmonton…
For the last couple years I have wondered when the Kings will get so sick of losing to Edmonton that they decide they’ve had enough. This game should help them get there.
I wonder what the decision of Edmonton to use that approach tells us?
Was it simply an attempt to intimidate the Kings (the Oilers did appear to mainly target the younger Kings) or,
Was it what Danault seemed to clearly believe, that it was an effort to injure Kings players.
If it’s intimidation I suppose it is at least understandable. If it’s intent to injure, is Edmonton acknowledging that this Kings team is better and Edmonton can’t compete?
I don’t know. But my sense is that Edmonton signaled a nervousness about this matchup.
We are all angry and emotional about Nurse. Rightfully so. But wise to keep our eyes on the prize.
I think that had been an issue the past few years for the Kings, and why the Kings tried to get tougher with Jeannot and Edmunson. For sure, Edmonton is scared to face the Kings and is trying to hedge their bets in advance (either through intimidation or injury). Can we not acquire Happy Gilmore for a game or two as a bruiser?

Bobby would kick his arse
Agreed. The only retribution the Kings should be seeking against Nurse is knocking his team out of the playoffs in the first round. Kings can't subscribe to the petty nonsense if they hope to win.I think that had been an issue the past few years for the Kings, and why the Kings tried to get tougher with Jeannot and Edmunson.
I do not disagree with how the Kings reacted the other night in Edmonton. Clearly the Oilers wanted that game to turn into a brawl with the hopes that injuries or suspensions might ensue.
I think Hiller and the team stayed away from that.
I also believe the Kings decided to give DPS the opportunity to do the right thing, which is how the system is designed to work. Of course that system failed, again by design.
I honestly think the Kings can handle Edmonton this year if they focus on winning and avoid the garbage. While the Kings earned home ice there are still three potential games in Edmonton. I don’t think it’s advantageous for the Kings to play into the oilers style and have a parade to the penalty box. We know how things work with Edmonton, especially in Edmonton.
The Kings absolutely need to be physical in the series. They need to hit McDavid every single time they can legally do so. Do I want to see retribution against Nurse? Of course I do. But not if it puts the Kings in a bad situation and puts Edmonton on one power play after another.
The Kings need to be smart about this. This is a winnable series. If payback on Nurse has to wait for next year in the regular season I can accept that.
I think Edmonton will use every dirty tactic to get the Kings off their game. But the Kings need to be careful about it.
Exactly. Going after Nurse accomplishes nothing.I think targeting McDavid with every "clean" hit possible is the correct strategy. Get him in a corner and blast him into the seats.
