It’s deadline season!

I simply don’t believe St. Louis is going to trade Robert Thomas. He’s on a team friendly deal through 2031. He’s won a Cup in StL. There’s no internal replacement. Unless he requests a trade he’s the type of player you rebuild around.

Elias Pettersson is the type of player who occasionally becomes available and everyone who didn’t watch him at his peak says he’s not worth his salary but the Kings are in a position where cap doesn’t matter. They’re desperate for a #1 C and they’d be lucky to get a player of his caliber. 4x All Star. 3x 30 goal scorer. 100 points in 2023. Established relationship with our homegrown star forward. It all makes sense.
And who was on his wing when he scored his 100 points?

I have been asking the universe to give us Gavi back since the season went south for the Rangers. He belongs with our team again.

Well, I think..... That an E1 is a trade rumor that Eklund feels is not significant and the trade will probably not happen. With an E5, Eklund is trying to show that this trade is more than a rumor, and it is a strong possibility that it happens.

In reality, it does not matter how he rates them. They are all mostly BS and you should see them as being E1's. That is unless many other sources are saying the same thing, in which case he would following them and just jumping on the bandwagon so to speak.

I want to say that he is probably the least reliable resource out there for trade rumors.
Here’s the E rankings explained below. But as previously said it’s mostly complete bullcrap until E5. That’s when the poo slinger takes a done deal that some credible source have reported and puts his own name as the source… 🤦

E1 – This is a rumor that comes from a single reliable source not in any way directly connected to the players or teams involved.

E2 – This rumor is simply more than one reliable sources not in any way directly connected to the players or teams involved and not connected to each other. It does not have to equate to two E1’s. It could be several E1’s.

E3 – This rumor comes from a single source with ties somehow to the players or teams involved.

E4 – This rumor comes from more than one source with ties to the players or teams involved.

E5 – This rumor comes from source telling Eklund the deal is 100% done and just has not been announced yet.

That's on him, not the Kings as they apparently made a comparable offer. Gavi made it pretty clear, apparently before the playoffs started last year, that he wanted to leave the Kings for unknown reasons. Per Mike Futa.
I will continue to remind everyone that the deal to extend Gavrikov was nearly done and would soon be signed, per Mayor's Manor. And we all know that the mayor is never wrong. Aside from Gavrikov extension and Blake + Hiller returning in 2025-26.

I don't want to give up much to bring Gavy back. Unless we can dump Ceci in the trade.

I think the Rangers would feel the kings already got a steal in the Panarin trade and will want more assets if Gavy came this way. I agree that I wouldn’t give up much to get him back though. I’d do a #2 or 3 pick and Dumoulin, who has been pretty awful lately.

Gavi looking at the Rangers situation...

It's kind of anti climatic to have the NHL start again after what Team USA just did. Let's just end the season and start over in October.
That’s what losers say.
….and yes, we are loser Kings fans.

Imagine if we had a competitive team with a brilliant front office….we’d be on cloud nine saying “Let’s go!!! Bring on the playoffs!!!”

…but alas, no…. We get Luc, Holland, Hiller show.

I'm sorry but this is insane. These people NEVER learn. How was this done when the Kings won their Cups? It was never an "ALL IN" situation. "ALL IN" almost never works. In 2012 the Kings have a CORE not the jumbled up mess they have now. These kind of moves just put the team back 5 years.

It isn't that these players (Panarin, Pettersson, Thomas etc.) are bad players. It's the timing of it all. This is why Anaheim and San Jose are going to dominate eventually while the Kings will be relegated to dead last....with no draft pics.

Welcome to the 1970s.

Oh, the barren wasteland of that period, mid 80’s, 94-03, 03-10 is absolutely coming. Quacks and Sharks are on the upswing. With younger talent and better coaching. Fully expect it.

That said, with the Captain’s impending retirement, and Doughty’s departure within a few years after, we might as well push all the chips into the center and see if they can catch some magic.

It also would require a complete revamp of our scouting and player development team. Out with Blakes cronies, in with new blood. I vote for Mama and Papa Hughes
