Kings Broadcasts in 2023 ???

If they go local broadcast I'm pretty sure all of us out of market fans will be stuck watching the away feeds through espn+

Not Kings news but a platform they could follow. No excuses not getting the games on air for everyone.

BTW I couldn't embed the NHL.com announcement.

No idea how this will settle out but an FYI. Balley went down not because of revenue. Rather, Sinclair began looting the outlet immediatley after the purchase in order to recoup the outlay, ASAP. The short sighted policy consumed all profit to the point of eating into Bally operating capital. Thus, the lawsuit.

Any package that precludes a streaming option is unacceptable to those of us who live outside of Southern California.
It's unacceptable to a whole lot of people. Who the hell wants them on broadcast TV?? The seven people who still have it? Broadcast TV would exclude pretty much anyone under 40-45, a very significant percentage of those over 45, and everyone outside the LA area. We're a quarter of the way through the 21st century. WTF is broadcast TV?

44 here. I still have cable. :)

Kings, and the NHL need to step into the 21st century.
Stream ALL the games with NO blackouts.

That will keep current fans happy, and will potentially get you casuals (which the NHL desperately needs).

The old broadcast model is DEAD to the demographic fanbase the NHL really needs (primarily young people).

I'd have to find a way to watch channel 5 as it's currently dead on DirecTV...contract issues.
Nostalgia for the simulcast days of the 70's on KHJ (9) and KTTV (11)? Won't work. Fan bases are too spread out and diverse. Hockey, being a 3rd (soon to be 4th) tier sport, needs every viewer it can get. Widest audience is streaming a feed thru our smart TVs.

This is the solution LVK found.

That is my preference! I love seeing the other teams takes on the Kings.
Maybe but not necessarily. My region overlaps three hockey markets. There were numerous occasions where it was necessary to stream if I wanted to watch Kings games. The streams afford both home and away broadcasting which can be nice at time but some teams are better than others, so...

I find it confusing but I'll sort it out going forward.

If I preface this with I've been micro dosing shrooms, will this be received in the manner it's intended? Tough to say. We've got grandpa simpson yelling at a cloud energy. But, since AI is a thingy, what if in the future, Bob Miller's* AI voice was doing the broadcast (whatever future platform that is)?
