Kings Broadcasts in 2023 ???

The article explains possible future and past solutions already applied by some MLB, NBA and NHL. There are solutions and if any team can't find one, it's on them and would be pathetic if their games are not broadcast.

I really disliked Faust and don't understand how there was a good chunk of people upset at his departure. Sure he was ok at play by play but I just couldn't stand his added commentary he added in while they were still skating. Like when he would start saying snarkily "shutout" when we were close to one, or when we were up a goal and lost the momentum, he'd start pontificating on how the other team was going to even it up (yeah he was right about it often but it didn't make for good broadcasting), etc etc etc.

Is this just me?
Not just you at all.

I will not miss Faust. Re: his spot on the telecast, I guess he just "lost the handle."

Besides the telecast - what about the Crypto name / Bally's going under (I assume the latter is the reason for the thread, and the former is just something I heard I think at some point)?

There's a part of me that doesn't believe for a second that the Kings will go radio only outside of the 16 national broadcast games. And then I remember it's the Kings. It will be an absolute disaster with the fanbase if they do not have a deal in place starting with the preseason games in Australia. There's literally no excuse for a professional team, especially one in LA, to not have a TV deal.

I actually liked Alex. Yeah, he's a bit more polished and network sounding at times but the shutout and pontificating isn't any different than most sports. The biggest challenge to getting accepted was that he was taking the place of one of the best in history. Peeple here and other places would never accept him as Bob's replacement.

He will be all over national sports broadcasts for years to come.
