Kings Broadcasts in 2023 ???

Hoven and DB stating on the latest Kings of the Podcast that they believe the Kings will have a 1 year bridge deal with Bally's. Regular season games will be on TV. Does not appear that Australia games will be televised.
That was a good update. Only took them 15 minutes to get there after a scintillating run-down of the live sports and music they’ve recently attended. Fortunately I wasn’t driving so I could hammer the fast forward button.

I don’t mind at all if it Bally’s again. That app worked just fine for me and is only 20 bucks a month.

It took me a minute to realize that DB meant Dennis Bernstein.
I think DB will always mean Dancing Boy to me....lol

Hoven and Bernstein are usually pretty good on these rumors, but I have doubts on this one. Bally's in hemorrhaging money and hockey in LA is far far behind other sports

Don’t see why Bally’s couldn’t carry Kings for a year. They don’t exactly have other leagues flocking to them for coverage. And they never filled the void left when they axed the show with the sledgehammer guy yelling “daddy’s gotta have it!”

Bally's has no money . It's business model was going to be largely based around online sports betting which didn't go thru in nearly the number of states than they thought it would. They are heavily in debt and can't fulfill it's existing more profitable contracts.

They already terminated the Padres and numerous other teams and it's very safe to assume that the Padres and
Diamondbacks have bigger audiences that Kings hockey

"Diamond has defaulted on rights' payments to some professional sports franchises, including MLB's San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks". Maybe those financial terms of those deals did not work for Diamond, but smaller deals with the Hurricanes and Kings may?

That’s along the lines of what I’m thinking. They need something to air. And Kings are likely much cheaper than a baseball team.

I do love summer, pool parties, vacations, longer days but enough is enough. Let's get this hockey season underway. They say time goes faster as you age, not during the summer without hockey. Then when it starts, the season flies by. That's when I truly age.

Perhaps our long national nightmare is over. At least for the 23-24 season. Also, I can't believe I typed 23-24. Will we finally see Deadmarsh back in action?
I hear he and Allison will be back after Christmas. :-)

As a possible reference point for those hoping the NHL will pick up Kings TV coverage. MLB coverage uses Padres broadcast team (good in this case because Orsillo is one of the best), but no record option and no replays. If you miss the time slot, you miss the game. The channel is dead otherwise.

While still no new news on a broadcast partner, Hoven today confirmed that both Kings-Yotes Australia games will be televised on the NHL network. Games will start at 9pm California time.

I’m guessing they will be on ESPN…Hope could they not be broadcast? Then again.. this is the NHL

I heard one game will be. But now NHL Network is going to a run a 3-part “Behind the Glass” series on the Kings starting Oct. 2 so I’ll have to sign up for a month of Sling anyway.

Nice, yeah..... Going to need to find a way to get NHL network and may go the Sling route as well.

It’s either the blue or orange plan but it has NHL Network on one of them.

I saw the same series when they focused on NSH. Not bad. Will have its moments with Clarke and Drew I’m sure.

According to the Sling TV site, NHL Network is an add on with 9 other sports related channels for $11 extra per month (Sports Extra add on, which includes MLB Extra Innings, NBA TV, ESPN U, & others).

Question for the experts out there. If Bally's pull the plug, would we be able to get the away feed or any feed on the Kings home games on ESPN+ if you live in San Diego or is that still considered So Cal.
