Confirmed with Link Kings name Holland their 10th GM in History

The last KOTP was hilarious. I’m not a Hoven hater, but this is a guy who said there was a deal in place for Gavrikov that would be signed in April. He admitted to this on the last show, but the best part was his backpedaling on Marner.

Suddenly now he’s talking how the Kings aren’t just one player away (a big admission from him.) He also downplayed “getting a 100 pt player” when the team needs more players like Dustin Brown, Shane Doan, and even Jeremy Roenick (ha). This after weeks of practically announcing for the team Marner would be a King. I think word got to him Marner is going to Vegas.

As for interest in Turcotte, I believe it because that’s a great contract. In fact it’s exactly the kind of player Vegas needs to fill out their roster. Would they flip Hague over for Turcotte? Because that works.
Sounds like a Hoven masterclass.

They're not relying on "access," so they're not beholden to the organization in any way. They're free to be pissed off and second-guess management and the coach, which is exactly what we do here.
Yep, except there are other kings fan podcasts which are unlistenable/borderline unlistenable. These guys do it right.

instant classic. I think he even said plugging in a 100 pt player may be nice but this isn’t a video game. Memory tube…

Agreed. Recently started listening to the Bannermen and it’s by far the best of the bunch. I appreciate that we have one good fan podcast but it would be nice if we could get more than 1 episode a month.

Thankfully I can fill my workdays with any number of general hockey podcasts on YouTube.

Here we go.

They'll get Rackell or Rust for Spence and the 1st. Which will mean the Cup is ours!
This sound VERY much like a Kings type of trade. We’ll get a player that previously has scored 30+ seasons, with us he will struggle to get more than 15…

Dobson signed a 9.5 mill per, and Kevin Bahl signed a 5.5 mill per. I’d say gavrikov is worth somewhere right in the middle. He’s probably asking 8.5 per m, and the Kings are countering around 7.5
Could be right. According to Holland’s own words he’s made two different offers to Gavrikov.

If we assume Blake’s original (rejected) offer was say 7.5 x 4 years. Clearly a team friendly offer meant to start the conversation. Gavrikov’s agent declines. Holland extends the offer (his own words) to 7.5 x 5. Gavrikov rejects. Holland offers 7.5 x 6. Gavrikov rejects. Will Holland extend further? 7.5 x 7? I bet he does.

Both Dobson and Bahl are much younger than Gavy. A long term contract for Gavy will pay him top $ while he is on the decline, not while he is reaching his prime.

You’ll get no debate from me there. I mentioned in another thread that I would’ve loved to see us trade for Dobson, and I’d have been willing to pay a fairly high price.

If your orders as GM are to win now do you care about how the player ages? I don’t think so.
Good point, but I that was not really my point. That being said, I would care that a redundant type of LHD is taking up to much cap space. That will impact me bringing in other players to make the needed changes and to add the needed depth to the roster.

Yeah, that was a pretty good haul by the Islanders.

The more I think about it, the more I think the Kings should let Gavy walk and replace him with K'andre Miller. Good skater with a good stick. Gives him a decent chance to defend against McJesus. More so than the smaller Spence with no reach. I would also rather see Miller out on the ice in OT. Gavy was ok, but was a bit out of place out there. Not to mention my complaints of Kempe being used on the left point when the Kings are pushing for a goal. What the perfect freaking place to play your best goal scorer when you need a goal.
