Kings trade w Sharks

He’s probably destined for the AHL all season, but one thing that’s being overlooked about this guy is that he will drop the gloves with most anyone. He actually fought Tanner Jeannot, as well as Josh Brown(monster sized player), and a host of other guys. Plays with snarl, which is why he ends up in multiple scraps per season. I do not mind this, especially to protect younger/smaller players on the Reign.

I think he will be on the team as well. I just am not convinced he is ready. Just because he is the Kings best option, and the Kings need to go cheap does not mean that he is ready to log lots of minutes in the NHL. The Kings are burning years off of Clarke's ELC, so yeah he is more than likely on the team. However.................................

When the Kings moved Johnson to make room for Voynov, that guy was ready for the NHL and ready to handle what ever load was thrown his way. I do not have that same sense with Clarke. Clarke is immature, both emotionally and physically. Hell of a hockey player, but he is cocky and sometimes he taunts opposing players. I fear he is going to pay the price if he does not cool it. Maybe he will come in next year and will show he has matured. That wold be outstanding.
Glad you agree he’s on the team. I don’t mind the take that he’s not ready, but entertaining the idea he somehow won’t be on the team is what I take issue with.

To offer a positive counter, by all accounts he went back to Juniors two seasons ago with a good attitude and never held himself above his teammates as some big timer. Then he proceeded to light the whole league up.

He always had a good attitude in Reign interviews last season. As for the on-ice attitude, Kings need some swagger. I welcome his confidence. Also, he’s not frail. He’s 6’2” and even managed some AHL fights last year. To that end, I’m not convinced at all the AHL is any safer than the NHL. Opposite could actually be true. The AHL has its share of goons.

Lastly, he’s got to learn the NHL game at some point. If Kings aren’t a truly competitive team next year, what is he not ready for? Not ready to learn and make mistakes on a team that’s not ready to compete anyway?
