Good win against a team they had to beat. PK continues to be alarmingly bad.
Notes from being at the game:
Sens fans are already done with this team lol, felt half empty. Still - lots of people in line to buy them apparently.
Petersen has to watch this game thinking where was that defense when I was in there.
Maybe the best full game I've seen a Kings team play in this arena - I've seen better games: the brawl with Deadmarsh etc, the goalie fight, Gretz giving the finger to someone in the crowd after getting tossed at the end of a game (swear to God)
That save by Copley at the end - the pad save is EXACTLY what this team has needed. While way too many grade A scoring chances have been given up - there was no key saves at key times. A lot of times I read on here - well, Quick had no chance on all the goals... okay, but you need your goalie to occasionally save one of those unstoppable shots. If Copley lets that in it's 5-3 and a whole new game. Hoping Quick feels some actual competition now and returns to form.
Got to brag to 28 co-workers about the Kings - that was fun.... and I'm wearing the jersey at school today just to rub it in that little bit more![]()
The best part of this game is that it just looked ... normal. No glaring missed coverages, only a couple minor, boneheaded gaffes that were quickly adjusted for. Normal looking saves looked routine.
And the lines looked balanced. I was a little worried about Kaliyev on the top line but he made a few nice plays and generally didn't notice him too much which is fine for a tough road match up.
Great win and well deserved 2 points.
Also, Fiala has 28 points now, with 20 being assists. Has he ever played center, because he looks like he could. I thought his stats would trend the opposite of that with us.
