Last Movie Watched

I watched "Whip It" yesterday. Meh, it was ok. I really like all the actresses in it, so I had higher hopes for this. Something about it was just flat though. I think the love interest/boyfriend storyline was completely unnecessary and took away from the overall story. I don't even know what purpose it served other than fluff (plus, that dude was NOT attractive). They could have used all that time on more of the skating and the team bonding or Bliss' conflict with her family or SOMEthing. Too much disconnect in the story. Ellen Page is still just so damn cool though. I love that kid.

Thank you! I didn't particularly think it was all that great either. I wanted to see more chicks beating the **** out of each other and more blood.

That musician/love interest dude got off sooooo easy. What the hell? Just a slap? I would have kicked him in the balls (with the skates on) and burned his jacket right there.

Reason #3972685631 why you and I are meant for each other. <3

The TOOT Fairy... Note that I left the H off of Tooth to get a very accurate description of the off ice moments of the movie...and the overall feel of it... I REALLY loved the ending...

Trailers and commercials didn't do it justice. Better than I thought it might be. Pretty funny.

So this movie got a bunch of bad reviews, and I'll admit it I am biased because, I love Woody Allen, but um, yeah, I'll file this under entertaining for Allen fans. Larry David makes a good misanthrope, but we all knew that. Good enough, just don't go expecting one of Allen's masterpieces, 'cause this ain't it.

I don't really care for Westerns but this one was an absolute gem wallowing in all its over-the-top shoot'em up glory. Classic Peckinpah set to a Bob Dylan soundtrack. Really enjoyable watch.

My favorite scene...

just saw shutter island. i liked it. a little predictable, but definitely worth seeing.

Watched Alice in Wonderland last night. I wasn't falling over myself wanting to see this at first but I'm glad I did. I thought it was fantastic. It's really hard to single out one person to talk about how great they did in the movie because everyone did a good job. Particularly Anne Hathaway. She just rules.

We didn't see it in 3D which is fine with me, I find it too distracting and disorienting at times, and it still looked great.

Wow, I just saw Alice in 3-D Imax, and I thought it was awful.

No reason to care for any of the character's fates, a plot that actually, literally tells you what is going to happen, Johnny Depp breakdancing in clown school drop-out gear, and speaking in a completely inaudible tone, all with that typical "we-are-so-misunderstood" gloomy-cheeriness that Tim Burton sprays around like so much fluff.

Plus Anne Hathaway looks like a suicide girl who begrudgingly had to go to her cousin's bah mitzvah.

There's more depth about a victorian woman's plight in the trailer for any Jane Austen film.

It looks awesome, I'll give it that, but how hard is it to give me even the smallest reason to care about what's happening on screen?
