I finally watched Delicatessen the other day. Loved it. Twisted as hell and totally bizarre, but awesome.

If you loved Delicatessen, next, check out The City Of Lost Children by the same directors (Caro et Jeunet) if haven't already seen it. Not the uber-classic that was the aforementioned, but a treat nonetheless if you like the dark and trippy style.

It's in my queue! gescom recommended it as well when I told him I had Delicatessen at home. I think I'm going to bump it up in the queue though, I have too many movies in it! I need to browse yours again for more stuff, too :)

Aw ya gotta get it soon!!!! And let us know what you thought.

Dude, my queue is WEAK right now. Probably doesn't look that much different than before. All the killer stuff is in the history, but I think we established that that couldn't be seen (which sucks). I'm gonna head on over though and see what you got brewin'....

Watched the Director's Cut on BluRay last night:

REALLY dug this version. Thought the changes were ****ing brilliant. They moved a few songs (to great effect), enhanced the ambient noises for better creepiness, added some clues to what the **** was actually happening, and on the whole it was a more complete picture. Pissed off the purists who liked the more interpretable original, but I was not a fanboy, so gave this experience two fat thumbs up. Also listened again with the audio commentary and was impressed with Director Richard Kelly. Learning the deeper meaning behind the theories, symbols, and certain scenes and characters brought it all together. I'm sure you've all seen the original, but if not the D.C., I HIGHLY recommend a second viewing with the commentary.

LOL, Donnie Darko...

I think I've gotten it from netflix at least 3 times now, and I always end up sending it back unwatched. I have NO idea why, but I just never seem to beable to sit my ass down to watch it. First time I had it, I had it for about 3 months. Maybe more. One of these days...

Ha...thanks for the review. I've seen the theatrical version a few times and I loved it. I have had the directors cut on the shelf since it came out, looks like I have to dust it off and give it a spin.:winky2:

I was sitting here in the Chicago suburbs, bored since my sister is back to work and my niece is back in school, so I saw this was available to watch online. What the hell, I've got some hours to kill before my niece's cheerleading practice ends...

It actually wasn't bad. The acting wasn't the greatest, but it was entertaining. My sister asked how it compared to the original. Honestly, its been too many years and too many beers for me to remember the original. Maybe I should give that a watch as well.

Just finished watching this and I've got to say I think it's one of the best movies I've seen in some time. Going into it, I wasn't aware that it was a true story. Decent acting, great story and a definite rarity in the fact that I would watch it again tomorrow.

I attended my school's screening of this last night.

I have watched this film so much that while it's violent it has lost some of its edge in my mind. I paid a lot of attention to the music and soundtrack while watching it this time around.

Saw Youth In Revolt today. Decent flick. Some really funny bits, but a lot of it was in the trailer. If you find Cera annoying, you might want to pass.

If you liked Dead Man's Shoes...

So...I finally saw this one...and...I really wanted to like it...but it just ended up pissing me off. It's dark, and bizarre, and just kinda ****ed up...but the characters...UGH! Lucy was a ****ing BITCH and Norman was just SO stupid...UGH. It made me mad.

Fair enough...sorry for the recommend. I agree with you about Lucy, I dunno, I guess the oddness/darkness combined with my mancrush on Mr. Oldman put it over for me.

No need for apologies. I really like Oldman AND Considine, but something about this just didn't hit that note with me. It was just bizarre and I was left with more questions than answers. I think that just made me mad. I do think that maybe I'll give it another shot sometime in the future. Or I'll just pm you my questions. Hehe

Whoa dude, this sounds like something I'd say after watching one of Adgy's movies I didn't like. Ahhhh and this is why I love KT so much, we're perfect for each other!

Finally saw it....

... and the haters can kiss my ass sideways. Sure the storyline is simple: good vs. evil, the treachery of greed, machine vs. nature, etc., but for pure escapist fantasy and UNGODLY visual delights, it does NOT get any better than this. My kind of s*** to be sure. LOVED it. Will see again in the theater hopefully once or twice more.

Excellent. REALLY enjoyed this. Loved the concept and approach, and definitely looking forward to the sequel.

Side note: watching the extras, Peter Jackson appears to have lost about 100 pounds. Good for him. Lap belt, maybe?

unbreakable011.jpg

Watched Unbreakable last night. I seem to remember not a lot of people liked this movie, but I enjoyed it a lot. I love Bruce Willis! James Newton Howard's score is awesome. Samuel Jackson's hair was a little distracting but I thought he did a good job.
