Hello fellow LGK Hard and Heavy Enthusiasts. My band just recently finished our EP and i wanted to share it here. I think it will appeal to those who like early Anathema, My Dying Bride, and current bands like Warning, 40 Watt Sun, Sleep, Boris, Earth, etc.

Doom metal's not really my cup of tea, but you guys sound great. And you have a good vocalist! That's the hardest thing to get right in a metal band, imo. There's so many bands that I don't listen to because, even though I like their music, I can't stand the vocalist.

Thank you! He often gets compared to Peter Murphy which wasn't really intended on his part to sound like him but he takes the comparison.

Doom Metal isn't really the most popular sub genre in metal but as a whole it's getting more coverage from music journalists now than it ever has.

I'll listen to it (give said dolphin some time). Dunno is Cough's Ritual Abuse an example of Doom Metal? Love said album. I Figured that Doom Metal is Sabbath influenced by default, Earth, being an example. I'll check yer stuff KingsOvAllKings and tell ya what I think. ;)

But some Cough to help me sleep. ;)

I just totally knocked it out of the park on a random search for some new tunes that were in my strikezone.

Sound of Contact might be a bit too proggy for some of you. But damned if it isn't artfully crafted stuff. The lead singer's voice reminds me of a young Peter Gabriel. Their style is a bit early Genesis, a bit Porcupine Tree, and a bit Floydian.

This whole album is good. Quite frankly, I investigated it based purely on their album cover art.

YESS!!! Waking up to Blackened this morning! My brother and I started a two piece Metallica cover band when we were kids... Listened to this album probably 10 times a day, def out favorite. Metallica is STILL my favorite metal band and top 5.

Firstly, the more I listen to this album, the more I really, really love it. Also, the more I realize it probably doesn't belong anywhere near the "Hard & Heavy" thread.

But since I've already posted it here, please give this a listen. Beginning to end. Hell, I'll mail you a disc full of the mp3s to get you to give it a shot.

I'm listening this morning, thinking: "Okay...who really are these guys?" As I mentioned, they've got an early Genesis feel...and I was thinking the lead singer sounded a bit like a very young Peter Gabriel and the drums are very Phil Collins...well it turns out the lead singer/drummer is Simon Collins. Yup. Phil's kid. That said, this is the best thing a Collins has done in music in a long, long time.

Fans of 80's thrash should give these guys a listen. They've managed to capture the genre's sound without sounding terribly derivative. An instant thrash classic (imo) in 2013. Who'd of thought?
