McLellan fired

The whole NHL coaching thing never really seemed like a difference maker to me in my limited years of watching anyways. It's like an endless carousel of retreads. We beat McClellan in 2014, We beat Torts, we beat all of the names that are in the never ending circle when we were winning those cups. They key is the GM assembling the right room and being healthy and hot at the right time. This season isn't necessarily over. Remember how quick we went from a Cup to them putting trash cans in front of the door to keep Sutter out?

Now we can blame the players

hold on hold on..

PLD and Blake are still here. I won't lay an inch of blame on anyone else until those 2 are gone and I'm sticking with it.

Maybe Rob and Luc weren't allowed to make a long-term, big money commitment to a new coach. It would be foolish to make that hire now if there's a significant possibility of a new GM and/or President this summer.

i've heard this a lot and I can only hope it's the case

I would like Blake, if he is still here, to draft and trade for hockey players. Sometimes a big strapping body is just a big strapping body. We all know how Blake played the game, so why would he want anything less?

A "change" was needed. Coach, GM, PR.... and Players. Just from a fan view......
Disagree, so if the Kings loose the next 10 games in a row all is good, cuz the fans are happy Todd was fired?

A change was needed to light a fire under the players arses. Winning games makes everyone happy.

Next we trade PLD and then we fire Blake!

With Calgary getting rid of lindholm maybe can swap huberdeau for pld and Calgary absorb some of his cap to make this work. Not ideal, but he plays w heart and passion. Also to keep from giving up draft picks to take him. Or as I mentioned b4, hopefully when arvy comes back he gets a winger that can finish. Even if this wakes up pld, it's a short term solution as the cap strapped team prob cannot afford arvy moving fwd. Maybe turcotte can slot into that position. Was a sweet 1st goal he had .plus, knock on wood, hopefully turcotte can stay healthy moving fwd and not be a Paul Kariya statistic. If not, then, back to huberdeau.

This is all.in for Blake and company. Hiller.not being the tmac guy is prob a good thing. So different philosophy, although the team did get to the dance the last cpl yrs and had very chance to make it past the oil, especially the previous yr.

THis is one trade proposal that might actually, possibly be doable. It's trading one awful contract for another, but maybe a change of scenery helps both players.

Yep, keyword being bad. But as mentioned b4, at least huberdeau looks like he's trying. But he's on the wrong side of 30. Thus making it possible for the flames to retain Salary to make this work.

Paul Kariya is a retired jersey hall-of-famer so I’d be ok with that for Turcotte.

Todd was always at best an average decision choice at best when Blake hired him.
He was never going to take the Kings to a championship. It was always going to end up like this.

At this point, Todd being "average" got coupled with Blakes horrific roster and player acquisition decisions, and that was a one-two punch of failure. Blake is now in CYA mode.

If AEG and Danny B get smart, they will see that what they have at the Kings is what they had at Galaxy: The old bro-culture, hire your friends, and former teammates, hire the guys you used to know or played for. Nobody smart from the outside. Insiders only. Echo-chamber front office mentality.

That style of FO wrecked the Galaxy. This past year Danny B, Uncle Phil cleaned house at Galaxy and threw out all the front office echo-chamber. Hired outsiders who know the game and have top tier successful experience. The Galaxy are on the way up.

Kings fans: Pray to the hockey gods, and light a candle of Uncle Phil and hope he fires Blake by the end of the season.
Then hire a new GM (from the outside) who will hire a new coach and bring the Kings back to the promise land. A decade of mediocrity is far far too long....it's time for a change.
Toss Luc too!

So, let's not make the fans happy? Fans are the ones who pay to see the product.
This team is miss managed, PERIOD

BTW, the Kings should have traded Kopitar and Doughty a long time ago.

Despite the millstone of Dubois I feel excited and optimistic for the future. Things will surely only get better, especially with Mr. Hiller who has, it seems, been studying and preparing for this opportunity the whole of his career, both playing and coaching! Beside, you don't change the coach with the expectation of things continuing the same or getting worse, you change the coach to make things better, ergo I'm expecting things to improve, as I said, despite the millstone of Dubois.

Good post. Nothing made fans happier than trading Jonathan Quick. Moar!!
