***Playoffs GAME 7 LA Kings @ Edmonton Oilers GDT 5/14/22 7:00pm on BSSC & ESPN***

Thanks Brownie for leading this team to not one but 2 Stanley Cups and for leaving it all out there. Grew up watching him lead the Kings hockey team. End of an era :(

Proud of these guys.

Todd leaving Brown's line out there against McDavid on the second goal is the most Todd thing ever.

Addition by subtraction this offseason. Hopefully Blake can have as good of an offseason as he did last year.

Things should be much better next season.

Brown should not have seen the ice in the third period. Certainly not at any time with McDavid on the ice.

Well, Quickie gave it his all. But he can't score the goals. (Yes, Mike Smith...you can't either.) Forwards disappeared all game. Kings relying on point shots from D, and while it may work, all year long, are D just aren't offensive point producers. They only one that was, DD, is not there. I hope Blake brings in bigger D that can shoot. Clarke is an offensive guy, but he's not big. Let's see what they can do in the draft of maybe he can package a trade with some D in the off-season. Oil, you're a two trick pony and one pony is lame. Oh, and those ugly jerseys don't say Stanley cup champs.

See you all at the draft...

Anyone else think that as the series went on,Brownie was a little selfish playing injured and not giving someone else a chance to contribute anything? He was not at 100 let alone 60 percent ,and most time on the ice he was a liability.Im thankful for his help with the 2 cups, but a little dissapointed that he was playing injured.

Such a sad sendoff for Brownie. But still proud of the boys for going 7 games.

From the Kings spanking Vegas on the home opener, to travelling to see the Kings in Seattle, and to the 4-0 win in Game 4..it was a very fun season. The future of this Kings team is bright!
GO KINGS GO!

Thank you for putting on a brilliant show and making me proud to call you my favorite player of all time Jonathan Quick. Thank you to my favorite team and I will really miss you Dustin Brown, first captain to ever hoist the Stanley Cup.

Also I think we have to thank Kopitar for a great career. I know he hasn’t formally announced retirement, but his effort this series was sort of an informal announcement.

Kopitar isn’t retiring with two years left. Buy him out maybe but he’s not retiring

His effort was fine, but admittedly the results offensively were lacking. Defensively he was very good for the most part and great on faceoffs. He'll have another solid season next year, but I'm sure his ice time will finally go down a little and Danault will take on more.

The only thing I don't like about this loss was us being the hump the Oilers had to learn how to get over to get themselves to the next level, because that's how they won this.

They adjusted and stepped up and we ran out of responses.

No shame in this year though, that season was amazing and there will be much enthusiasm for next year.

There is no need to buy him out. He's still one of the best defensive centers in the game and I saw somewhere that he and Danault were 2 of the top 4 defensive centers in the playoffs going into tonight. Admittedly he's not the offensive force he was when he was younger, but he still led the team in points. He's got 2 decent seasons left in him.

So...

Bye Brown, thanks for retiring. Kopi, please follow. Iafallo, you suck. Edler? No thanks.

Everyone else?

A lot of potential. Great season. Exceeded all expectations. Healthy team who knows what may have happened. Next year sounds like fun.

Well that sucks. Quickie stands on his head and has to watch that all in front of him...

Todd you did great work with these guys but the special teams issues killed the Kings in this series. So much so they didn't want to so as much cause a penalty in this game because it had a 50% chance to turn into a goal. So if you aren't aggressive and bump players off the puck you don't really move the puck up the ice. This talk of all the pressure being on the other team goes away when they get a lead. Kings were not able to answer at all. Edmonton deserved to win the game and they did.

Especially galling for Mike Smith to get a shutout...again. Dirty rat.

Thank you Brownie...going to miss you. Hope you take some time off the ice with your family; and then come back and work with the organization in some capacity so we see you around... :)

Thank you Nyssa and Jammer for the threads and the tally. It's going to be a long few months until October... :(

The kings were never a playoff contending or Stanley Cup champion competing team so all the talk about Brown sitting down and letting other players play, who would’ve played in his place to make a playoff run difference? Let him play out his career and give him the credit he deserves for the past years that he won us two Stanley cups. By all standards this was a positive season, seven players in the playoffs for the first time. If anyone bet on the Kings getting to a game seven in the first round at the begging of the season….hats off and congrats on the payout. I’m frankly excited about next year and can’t wait till October

Disappointing result but the future looks incredibly bright. The team needs a skill infusion badly. Hopefully we've already got the pieces in the organization. If not I wouldn't feel bad about Blake breaking the bank for Gaudreau should he hit free agency.

Any way the better team won but it sure was fun to get to enjoy some playoff hockey again!

Agree. He didn't even have a bad game. Not to dwell on what Todd did wrong (he did some right too), but he played Kopitar too much and it wore him out.

Agree just responding to the call for him to retire. Just need need to find the right spot as maybe the second line center

Oh, and Blake...please don't resign AA. Rather see a kid full time than this dude.
