***Playoffs Rd 1, GM 3 GDT - Oilers vs. Kings 4/21/23 on >>BSSC<< & TNT***

This Thousand Oaks resident is incredibly proud of him. Met him when he played in college. He is a good man.

That's awesome. I went from grades 3-12 in Simi, watching the Kings. Always wanted to play, parents told me I was too old to learn when I was 8. So happy to see him living the dream.

Guys I’ve got a secret: I think Gabe might’ve hit that puck with a high stick but I do not care in the slightest. What a win!

Oh oh oh, can we just mention how much of a game changer Gabe ****ing Vilardi is?!

Great game. Great result and still feel like we’re not playing our best. Thought durzi was rough again. Hope he can get it together.

Arvidsson deserved a star tonight. Maybe the 1st star. He was incredible.

I used to see Trevor at Ice-O-Plex when he was home from U of Denver during summers.

Skated there often! And the other one.. that ended up having an indoor paintball field next to it before it closed down (played there a lot). I forget the name. I think a lot of Kings used to skate around over there. I think in SFV tho. To go off on a tangent.

At this point, I hope we find out that he did hit it. Would love to watch the Oilers' fans meltdown.

Nick & Daryl just clarified that even if he DID hit it with a high stick, the Oilers player touched it next & played it, which means play should continue and it would not be blown down normally.

Holy Korpi, to that turban man Oilers fan this win is for you

The puck only touched his back, and that is not possession.

So while technically it “should” have been waived off, there is absolutely no way in hell anyone can say beyond a reasonable doubt, from the available evidence, that Vilardi touched it.

Is this a certainty? I feel like this happened to us early in the season, or last year in the regular season where there was a high stick review on a goal, and it did touch the other team, but they said that the other team didn’t possess the puck so it didn’t nullify the high stick? Anybody else remember that? In any case, how can Toronto initiate that review with the ‘incident’ occur at least 10-15 seconds before the goal? Don’t the refs have to catch it on ice? I do believe Toronto automatically reviews all overtime goals, but is it under their purview to go so far back into the play like that?

Amazing watching Vilardi becoming such a complete player. I thought he looked a little out of sync early - which makes sense playing one game after ten out. But defensively he was there all night and then got the offence going. All the praise to him but tmac deserves love too for refusing to accept less until Vilardi changed his ways.
