***Playoffs Round 1 Game 3 Edmonton Oilers vs. LA Kings 7:00pm on BSSC & TBS***

Safe to say, he wants to beat the Kings...badly.

If the Kings lose this series, it would be nice in the clinching game for the Oilers to see Brown run Smith through the back boards in retaliation for 2012. In fact, I'd be OK with seeing him do it tonight.

who dat Oils goalie think he is Patrick Roy? Belfore?

Smith playing like a giant caveman version of Quick tonight

If the Kings Special Teams were food.

:yuck:

Kings outplayed the McDavids that period. All it took was typical reliance on special teams by the Oilers.

Also the Kings are soooo slow with their PP passes.

The special teams gap totally flipped this series.

And man do we miss Arvidsson. He?s one of the few forwards we have that is dangerous on every shift with his tools and shot.

The injury to Arvidsson must be pretty bad. Hope he recovers fully to play next season. The Kings need him.

Unfortunately, the Oilers played a nearly flawless period. Great hit by Lizotte on one of the Oilers, the! Probably not shown on tv.

Kings may have 19 SOG, but can anyone honestly say that 18 of them are remotely good chances? All lame shots from the perimeter or right to his glove.

That first was.... Unfortunate. I like what Kupari and Gabe are bringing. I wish Kopi could get his face off MOJO back. It's killing that line. Kempe needs to gain some arrogance or something back. He's playing too tentatively. There's a long grind method to get back in this game but I don't know if the kings can pull it off.

We are getting shots at the net and shaking the jitters. It's time to get some lucky bounces to go our way.

Need to distribute the talent on the pp. it’s not working but then pp2 doesn’t have enough to compete. Take Danault off 1 and have him Center 2. He’s front of the net on 1 which means the puck NEVER gets near him.

First period observations:

Edmonton had three good chances; they scored on two of them.

Nice to see Coach Todd grew a brain and played Gabe, who at least created a few quality chances.

Mike Smith is playing the best I've seen him play in like forever...and he was damn good last game too (and Lucky).

So...what does the Magic 8 ball have to say:

So...what do I have to say:

Sorry...but that's all I got...

...except...tee hee...

...and double tee hee...

...so do not attempt to adjust your TV screen.

It's 2-0 after one.

The game is not over.

They have the volume of the in arena entertainment turned up to 11. Or maybe 12.

It's been a fun season, but I think we've used up all the overcoming adversity magic dust. We could probably hang around not having a PP, but not also lacking a PK. It's all just too much.

Someone needs to remind Kings that they're on home ice and teams are supposed to do pretty good at home.
