Quick to Vegas! (Confirmed)

Serious question: if Quick led the Knights to eliminate us or god
Forbid a cup - is Blake fired? Unlikely I know but wondering.

The Knights were screwed in net with Thompson and Broissoit hurt. They needed a NHL vet, even if it was one having a bottom-3 season.

They will want to have a veteran when the playoffs start. They hope he can become "old school' JQ32. He wasn't that goalie for us this year.

And this bull I see about how the Kings play D in front of him. The Kings statistically limit and block shots better than the majority of the NHL.

Quick was always an explosive and agile goalie. It was always said when he got older his game would fall off because he wasn't a great positional goalie.

My friend went to VGK practice today and she took this pic.

It just got real.

Without saying directly, Jim Fox, illustrated the exact reason why Phoenix Copley has been having relative success in net and quick was not. It came during one of the intermissions, I believe, when they showed a replay of how Copley stands upright to look over defenders and screens. Quick always crouches down so low and is constantly having to bounce back-and-forth side to side to see around them. Often times ending up on the wrong side of the defender and leaving the other side of the net wide-open. That’s how so many of those seeing eye point shots ended up in our net this year, and for the past several seasons.

I don't think he would no. Blake traded Quick to 'lumbus. It's out of his control what happens to Quick after that. It would be unreasonable to hold him accountable for the second trade.

I don't understand the continued "the way he found out about the trade" stuff. Rob Blake called him direct to let him know...and no Blake probably could not have waited a few hours, otherwise it would have gotten out on the internet and JQ would have found out through the media...or you think Blake should have waited to pull the trigger on the trade until the next day? If that is the case then deal making is not part of your daily routine, deals are presented at that time, you wait and due to any circumstance, terms of a deal can change.

Imagine Chychrun's trade went through or Boston (who was after Gavrikov) made cap space...then the deal falls apart and you get neither of those players. Either or more of those scenarios occurs and trade falls apart, and Blake is scrambling to find another deal to make. Blake had his target's got his price and package and pulled the trigger when it was available to him. Way too many things could have happened over the next 12-18 hours that could have blown the trade up and left us holding the bag with 0 improvement for a roster that needed and got upgrades in 2 specific areas. Blake did nothing wrong.

Its possible that a situation sucks that was gone though where no one did anything wrong even though it sucks. If you want to blame anyone, blame father time, it's not the Kings D, and sure as heck is not Blake. Maybe JQ and Cal have a part in this as well, but it's also the dynamics of a business the players understand and are compensated well for.

JQ is still a King, nothing will change that, I dont care what sweater he is wearing!

Quickie is a Kings legend and I would think Blake would of given him a heads up this week if he was thinking of dumping him. Blake was in the position to give him that courtesy. I just watched ESPN interviewing Quickie and he gave nothing but praise to the Lumbus GM for calling him right away and relating his intentions. Yes, it's a business, but like any business where an employee has given you nothing but hard work and loyalty, some respect is earned.

Backing up. I’m watching the pregame now. They’re showing lots of the quick interview stuff and man, it’s difficult. I can hear his voice cracking, answering these questions. I think the emotions are extremely raw for him. Rough…

Yeah I saw a video. Painful.

Had a little bit of the 1,000 mile stare also.
Very hard to watch.

Quick will be the starter for the Knights game on Sunday.

LAS VEGAS -- Jonathan Quick didn't have the sharpest debut, but he did enough to notch his first victory with the Vegas Golden Knights Sunday in a 4-3 victory over the Montreal Canadiens.

Quick, a two-time Stanley Cup champion acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday -- two days after he was traded from the Los Angeles Kings -- had 25 saves in the victory.

"I felt pretty comfortable right from the get-go," Quick said. "Obviously, a different setting, a different color jersey, but once you get out there, you just try to play hockey."

Quick, who knows the environment in Vegas as an opponent all too well, was greeted warmly by the fans when he led the Golden Knights onto the ice before the game.

"It's a fun building to play in," Quick said. "These fans are great, we've known that since day one. Definitely a warm reception, and I enjoyed that."

Where Quick, who will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, fits into coach Bruce Cassidy's plans the rest of the regular season and into the postseason remains to be seen. He could work his way into a starting role or be a backup like he was this season in Los Angeles. But, after this whirlwind week, the veteran will be ready for whatever comes his way.

"I'm a goalie," Quick said, "so, stop the puck, try to win."
