***San Jose Sharks vs. LA Kings GDT 1/11/23 >>7:00pm<< on TNT***

Copley trying for the empty net there. We don't need Mike Smith, Copley.

can't say i wasnt clenching hard down teh stretch here. 2 pts though, so good on them for that. Honestly seemed like they backed off in the 2nd and never quite found their footing the rest of the game, but this was just a better team cruising through a lesser opponent.

Here’s the difference with the Kings this season, now they have the skill to get back into games when their effort slips a bit. That’s a literal gamechanger.

Great post game interview with Dewy. The guy is such a character.

BTW Lundqvist is horrible as an analyst, he has nothing to say and just sits there in his expensive suits looking pretty. Stumbled to say anything about Copley

Seemed a bit like he isn't, yet, all that impressed with Copley and didn't want to say anything negative so he stumbled on his words - and let's be fair, Copley isn't in the same league as a future HoF'er but we are winning with him in net which is what is truly important right now.

Yeah he looked uncomfortable, too. Does he not know what he’s getting into being on a panel with BizNasty? 5 minutes of his podcast should be enough warning.

Not suggesting Copley is in a HoF’er league by any stretch, but he is there to provide analysis which he doesn’t do.

I thought this was going to be a trap game. Luckily the Kings are good & the Sharks are terrible. But they made it close. I’m so glad Byfield got 2 points, including his 1st goal. I know a lot of us were worried about when it was going to happen. But he’s been playing well since getting on Kopitar’s line. I hope it’s the start of him scoring along with doing all the little things that he’s been doing. Anyway, glad we won this game. Partly because we’re now tied for 1st. Partly because it would be embarrassing to lose to the Sharks on national TV when we just beat the Golden Knights & Oilers. But mostly because I went to the game & it’s the 1st time in forever since I attended a game where they won. If they had lost I would’ve worried that I was some kind of curse.

Go Kings Go!

Period one: Crowns dominated - Should have been 3-0
Period two: Sharks pounced on bad play by Copley - still - should have been 4-1
Period three: Sharks goals oddly ricocheted out of the net so fast - no one really knew

Kupari is silently securing a spot.
Byfield has magnets in his hockey stick - great puck control

Lastly, Do the Kings really have to keep showing DJ Vic One (and his chins) on the big screen?

Congratulations to the following posters who correctly guessed a goal differential of 1 and/or the final score of 4-3:

Both (2 Points):
CIrvine
Rogie-Vachon

1 Goal diff (1 Point):
DRice
LeftyKing
kingrussell

That's a win to take to the bank and a good thing there's a break coming up since it was definitely a game that saw things creep back into their game. I get it, that first period dominance led to a lot of confidence, but the lack of results is where the game management has to hold sway. Copley's coming out of his shell on the ice a little so we might see some more adventures here but in general I thought his attempt to clear it (on the empty net) was a good sign, but again it's one of those things where the attention to detail and willingness to do the things to win instead of score is going to be repeated by the staff. Good for Q to get into the game and get rewarded. I thought Kupari was doing himself favors out there as well. JAD certainly had a lot of effort, but needs to breathe a little easier when he's got those other skill guys out with him. Almost reminded me of Leipsic who was all kinds of effort but you really weren't sure if he was helping the situation. Got the result, enjoy the top of the standings for a day and get back to work.
