***San Jose Sharks vs. LA Kings GDT 3/10/22 7:30pm on BSW***

Please clarify this statement:

"A double minor will count as ONE penalty since it?s to the same player in one call, same with a major penalty assessed at the same time as a fighting or other penalty."

So if we were to look back to an extreme example in King history, on March 11, 1979 at the Spectrum, Randy Holt was involved in a major altercation at the end of the first period (the 20-minute mark), wherein he was assessed a fighting major, a 10-minute misconduct, and a triple game misconduct. Technically, this is five penalties. But if I understand the parameters you have established for today's game-day poll, this is to count only as ONE instance? Is that correct?

Thank you in advance for the clarification.

3 penalties HA HA HA HA

6 penalties HA HA HA HA

I would say yes based on the fact that they are rules designed to simplify the matter. As far as the real world goes that instance sounds like two penalties to me (5, 10) and a review. Did they boot him for 3 games on the spot? Curiosity.

LOL....yes.....I suppose we'll still call this instance just one penalty. :) I see you are already anticipating my Magical Poll Powers creating some freakish penalty situation.

It's pretty much the same question as a few games ago, but instead of "how many different players" will get penalties it's how many times will the same guys get sent to the box.

also....TRIPLE game misconduct?? is that even a thing any more? Was it even a thing then?

Randy Holt was something of a loose cannon during his career. While the Flyers were certainly not blameless in this game, Holt was definitely the impetus to a record-shattering collection of penalties. I think the triple game misconduct was the simplest way for referee Wally Harris to banish him from the game and send a message to the other players. The league then suspended Holt for the Kings' next three contests.

I believe that night was the first time I ever heard of a triple game misconduct for one player. Steve Jensen of the Kings got a double game misconduct at the same time as Holt's penalties, and the Flyer's Frank Bathe, Mel Bridgman, and Paul Holmgren all received double game misconducts. The King's Bert Wilson, Mark Heaslip, Dave Taylor and the Flyer's Behn Wilson and Bob Kelly received single game misconduct penalties.

A search on YouTube for Randy Holt and Flyers will reveal a couple of interesting videos of that crazy first period, which "celebrates" its 43-year anniversary tomorrow.

Here's video of it all...

I'm worried about an emotional letdown tonight. That was a tough 3 in 4; physical, emotional, injuries and a long flight home.
Would not be surprised if tonight is ragged.
Hope I'm wrong and they find the energy.

4,6,7

judging from Gustl's tweets and facebook posts, I'm thinking they are planning to do the Jonathan Quick "surprise" silver stick (for 350 wins) ceremony pre-game tonight.

for my penalty guesses I'll say 6, 7, 9

GO KINGS GO!!!
