Pulling for Calgary. A Canadian team plus Toffoli and Lewis!

I'm still having a hard time rooting for a Tkachuk. But I'll have to bite the bullet because I want to see Kane and Nurse go down.

Someone needs to photoshop a playoff bracket diagram that shows all the horrible individuals left in the tournament. Will Tkachuk get past Kane? Will Reaves meet Perry in the East? Will Perron be eliminated by Kadri?

I want to follow the tournament by who I most want to see eliminated.

I say put all six of them in a room with the Stanley Cup and a broken hockey stick and lock the door from the outside.

It's funny you should mention this. I would have every one of those players (at one time or another) on the Kings save for Kane. All of those guys are hard to play against.

I don't disagree. I'm sure every other teams fanbase version of this bracket would have Brown circled for elimination if the Kings were still playing.

I didn't have St. Loo, but that comeback win last night was one of the best games I've ever seen.

I am going with Colorado despite how they blew the game last night. I lived in Wyoming for 14 years so sort of a regional team for me and except for their conservative play in the 3rd period last night I like their style of play.

Well, McJesus won again. Hard to believe the Kings gave a better series against EDM than CAL did. Weird.

I'm now hoping for a McKinnon vs McJesus series. Should be a hoot.

The fact the Kings took the Oilers to seven games only serves to underscore how close the Kings really are. Heck, we had them down 3-2, and had a chance to close it out at home. Definitely a reason for optimism.

On the down side, unless teams figure out a way to slow McDavid, there's a damn good chance we get to see Kane skating around with the Cup in three weeks. And that sucks.

Wow...great ending tonight. Go Avs!...take out the Oil.

Mc vs. Mc...should be fun.

congrats, Avs! but, what a performance by Husso in these last 2 games. Phenomenal.

Next round should be fun!! I'm predicting either a sweep or 7 games with triple OTs - no in-between.

Gotta hand it to St. Louie...without Binnington they gave the Avs all they could handle.

And how cool was it the organ player broke out "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" from Monty Python's Meaning of Life during the handshake line?

So...it's McDavid vs MacKinnon. McDonald's needs to take advantage of this...some free Iced Tea or frozen desserts each time they score...it just makes too much sense...

...and go Avs!

Some free advice: I would not bet the house on this Susan. :monkeykiss:

The Oilers have no one to match the excellence of Makar, as good as Nurse is. However, the Avs have no one to match McDavid, as good as Mackinnon is. In fact, no one can match McDavid. But, the Avs can match the Oilers firepower, and neither Kuemper nor Smith, while both have been good, have been at an elite level. This has the chance to be the best playoff series since 2014 Kings / Blackhawks. Avs in 7, thanks to home ice and altitude.
I'll certainly be rooting for the Avs too. No love lost towards the Oilers, just like old times.

Of the teams still in it I’m rooting for the Rangers only because I put money on them in Vegas along with 3 other teams already eliminated. But it’s not looking good with them down 3-2. Beyond this I’d kind of like to see Tampa 3peat. It hasn’t been done since the Islanders in the early 80’s so that would be remarkable, especially in the salary cap era. The team I most don’t want to see win is Edmonton. But I asked somewhere else, can a player not advance to the finals & still win the Conn Smythe? It was kind of a joke but not really. I think if the Oilers advance to the finals, win or lose, McDavid is the MVP before the 1st game even starts.

In theory, yes, but it's never happened, probably because it's hard to argue a player could be more valuable to his team than another player from either team in the finals. I do agree, though, that if the Oilers go through, McDavid would be the odds-on favorite for the Smythe, definitely if they win, but quite possibly even if they lose.

I was trying hard to not root for the Rangers, but the Shesterkin story is making me interested in seeing them advance.
