So if they screw up the DP's does the boycott start again?
We have Puig ....and now, not one but TWO open DP spots.....how do the Galaxy screw that up?

Galaxy: Just watch,.......See that 36 year old "LEGEND" (often injured the past couple of years), currently loaned out to a club a tier below the top flight league?

Fans: That guy?!?!?!?!?

Galaxy: YEA! That guy! Check it this highlight real from 2011! Look at him go! Imagine THIS guy on your club!!! An absolute world class legend! Think of all the jersey sales we can make!!!

Fans: (checking calendar year) Ummm.....It's 2024. Not 2011.

Galaxy: Agreed. What's your point?

Fans: ..........................

Oh it's happening.

If anyone can explain to me the how/why of the support for Vanney to continue for another season, I would like to know.

I hear the "reasons": unprecedented injuries, transfer window ban, no FO infrastructure in place when he arrived, the boycott "distraction"....etc.

What I see is THREE years of POOR roster building.
What I see is a team that cannot defend for THREE years....and the coach is a defender himself.
What I see is the inability to be creative in the offensive third, and a serious lack of scoring.

Sure Puig is the big get, (Brugman the other) but if not for those two guys, this three years of roster "building" would be absolute trash!

IMHO it's either Vanney cannot build a roster
OR
Vanney has a system that these players or MLS caliber players cannot play effectively
OR
Vanney is a poor coach.
^^ There is quite a bit of evidence for this:
Poor substitution decisions over and over again.
Team can and will only play one system.
The team cannot adapt to tactically change, or formation changes.

They have one formation, and one system.....and all the teams know this.
It's predictable, slow, plodding, uncreative, and massively exploitable in counter attacks.

Vanney LOVES to talk "tactically" to the press about his system, and what he wants, and what he sees.
It's like ear candy.....however, I seriously think he may know this in his head, but cannot "coach" it to his team.

Tell me what I am missing, because even if the G's hit two MASSIVE DP players, I think Vanney is still a big "problem".

Season over.
Galaxy dumpster fire will continue to burn into the offseason.

With Vanney at the helm I have no hope in this offseason.

[Bogert] LA Galaxy has named Will Kuntz their new CSO, taking the title over from head coach Greg Vanney. “The plan is to get the Galaxy back to the upper strata of the league and the position we used to occupy,” Kuntz said.

Even better news: Kuntz can fire Vanney......the old structure had only Danny B being able to fire Vanney.

LOS ANGELES (Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023) – The LA Galaxy have appointed Will Kuntz as General Manager. Announced today by Dan Beckerman, President and CEO of AEG, Kuntz will report directly into Beckerman and will be responsible for soccer operations from the first team through the academy, including scouting, player acquisitions, salary cap and budgets. Greg Vanney will report to Kuntz and will return to his primary role as Head Coach where he will continue to guide the technical vision of the club, including coaching methodology, while managing the first team staff and the sports performance department. Kuntz and Vanney will collaborate on all major soccer operations decisions for the Club.

Obligatory congrats to the Crew. A club that was nearly extinct a couple of seasons ago and now 2Cups in four years.
Always nice to the the OG clubs win.

Raheem Edwards traded to Montreal
Excellent move by Kuntz!
Moving Raheem and getting $400k gam, - $750k cap space!

Loved Raheem....dude gave 100% all the time for the club. Really played for the crest.
Downside, there was always going to be a "boneheaded" move that killed the G's mixed in with some greatness from Raheem.
If the G's are ever going to have a serious backline, a guy like Raheem cannot be a part of it.

All the absolute best to Raheem....may he go and maybe end up a winger in Montreal....I think that would suit him best.
Gonna be cool for him to back home in Canada. Hope he thrives.

It continues....

LOS ANGELES (Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023) – The LA Galaxy today announced that the club has acquired $100,000 in 2024 General Allocation Money (GAM) and $100,000 in 2025 GAM from the San Jose Earthquakes in exchange for forward Preston Judd. Additionally, the Galaxy can receive $50,000 in conditional 2025 GAM if certain performance metrics are met by Judd with San Jose during the 2024 campaign.
