Marvel's 'Avengers: Infinity War' to be Shot Entirely With Imax/Arri 2D Camera

The move by directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo marks the first time a Hollywood feature film will be shot only using Imax cameras and its exclusive aspect ratio. The Imax/Arri 2D digital camera, which stops short of a full Imax 3D camera rig, is a customized large format version of Arri's 6K Alexa 65 camera.

The Russo brothers (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) will capture the two-part installment on the Alexa 65, and Imax will then digitally process Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War – Parts 1 and 2 for its giant screens. The directors will use the Imax/Arri 2D digital camera for action sequences on Marvel's Captain America: Civil War, before they capture the entire Avengers: Infinity War two-parter.

good god. when is my mom getting cast in CA: Civil War? it's only a matter of time at this point.

Saw Avengers last night, FINALLY. Really enjoyed it.

I'll be interested to hear some specific thoughts from you guys on what you thought made it just a bunch of set-ups for future movies. I thought there were bits and pieces of set-up, but for the most part, I felt it stood on its own.

Really liked all the Black Widow stuff, and wish they would have been setting up a solo flick for her...

Anyone else watching this? I started Saturday night (first two episodes). I am not sure ... like the main actor and love Rosario Dawson but ... I will watch more episodes. Just wondering what everyone thinks - the hallway fight scene when he rescued the kid with the Russians was pretty cool as previously noted in this thread.
