WHAT. HOW?! You need to remedy that immediately. It's my favorite Marvel film so far.

Yeah...Captain two was pretty damned sweet. Definitely stepped out of the format as much as allowed. I know this is gonna cause controversy...but I think of all the Avengers flicks the Cap'n:First Avenger is my favorite. You all have totally missed on that one.

Not even gonna touch that one. :D

Crazy talk.

why? It has the best villain, after Loki, of any of the movies Has a total Raiders vibe throughout, and it took a very one dimensional/bland character and gave him a LOT to do. The evolution of the costume throughout was a nice touch too. Go back and rewatch. I dare ya. Arguably the MOST comic-book-ish of the lot too, and I find that a refreshing change from comic book movies trying not to show their true colors.

I'm not saying it's bad. It's highly enjoyable.

It's just not as good as the second one. Or Iron Man. Or Avengers.

Iron Man really doesn't hold up well. It has an inflated rep because it was the first and it worked despite the ridiculousness of it all. Oh and RDJ in the part he was born to play. But Bridges and the whole Iron Monger stuff is horrible. Avengers was a one time deal. Absolutely ZERO rewatchability. Cap'n 2 was strong...but I still stand by my choice. I just think Joe Johnston really captured the time and the vibe of all the Cap'n origin canon and made it fun.

Regarding First Avenger - I at first hated it as too hokey. But then I began to realize it was a period piece that HAD Red Skull in it (I loved Red Skull as a key villain back in my youth). I think if you take it in the vein of how jd is describing - this is a darn good movie. Add in that Chris Evans is an outstanding CAP and it is a fun movie. I would say if it isn't the best it is right up there. I loved Cap2 but it is freaking grim. My favorite Marvel flick, though, is Guardians. Proper levity and good cast.

Guardians my fav too, although I don't have much to pull from as I haven't seen hardly any of these flicks...

I've seen Guardians obviously, Avengers, parts of the 1st 2 Iron Mans. I say "parts" because they were so boring I couldn't finish either of em. Also part of Thor for same reason.

Well, if we're doing this...here's my top 5:

1. CA: The Winter Soldier
2. Guardians of the Galaxy
3. CA: The First Avenger
4. The Avengers
5. Iron Man

I agree with JD on his review of The First Avenger. It's one of my favorites in the MCU. So many people complain that it's boring and I don't understand why. We got a fantastic origin story, a PERFECT Steve Rogers, one of the best comic book villains...plus we got the damn Howling Commandos! What's not to like?
....but then again Captain America is my favorite Marvel character soooooooooo ?\_(ツ)_/?

Avengers with zero rewatchability? Crazy talk.

I completely forgot about Guardians initially. That's my favorite of all them so far.

I have zero complaints about Cap 1. It was tons of fun, it completely NAILED so many things that might have otherwise come off as hokey because the got the tone right. Red Skull was PERFECT. It introduced us to Hayley Atwell (which is all by itself justification for it's existence).

I realize this is all subjective and everyone's thoughts or going to be filtered through their own way of looking at things, but to say that Avengers has zero rewatchability is Crazy Talk. I drop the remote every time it's on. :)

Fully agree with some love for Agent Carter ...

Mmmm, Hayley Atwell.

There can be a movie with Hayley Atwell dressed up as Agent Carter sitting in a room for two hours and that would be the best Avengers movie. mhihi:

I'll show myself out.

As someone who, several days ago, watched EVERY Marvel movie at the El Cap...I'd just like to say that The Incredible Hulk is HIGHLY underrated as a movie and Ed Norton is infinitely better as Bruce Banner than Mark Ruffalo.

Also, the first Captain America movie was very underwhelming to me. I say this having seen it like four times just trying to like it more than I did. It's not bad, it's just there. Existing. Setting things up.

Agreed. Norton was phenomenal
