The Comic Books and Comic Book movies thread

So for some reason this morning, I felt like giving a look to IDW's solicitations for May after my RSS feeds updated. Good thing I did, too, because I saw this:

30 Days of Night: Night, Again #1 (of 4)
Joe Lansdale (w) • Sam Kieth (a & c)
Fleeing the site of a secondary vampire infestation in the cold, wilds of Alaska, a band of survivors arrive at a climate change facility during the final days of a long period of extended daylight. The inhabitants of the research compound are trying to determine the nature of a strange object found in the ice when the survivors arrive, leading to a frightening and bloody confrontation between humans and vampires and an odd and unexpected guest!

Yep, gonna need to buy that.

OOOf that's a helluva team and Keith's artwork lends itself well to the previously determined 'look' of that property. :chesh:

Have I told you peeps that I have never seen any of the X-men movies? :P

Dude! Stay pure and don't even bother. They are horrible. Who casts Anna Paquin as ****ing Rogue? She totally jacked up that character. (Btw, don't listen to Adgy - he's blinded)

Adgy gave me Jennifer Blood to check out:

One word.

CLICHE.

Housewife by day, killer at night. Uh ok. I didn't think it was anything special. Kinda boring too. I don't think it's really novel or interesting how she's going to muse on the humdrums of housewife duties while blowing people up. I'm quite surprised that the violence was very weak sauce for Garth Ennis. Not impressed.

I agree with the cliche' argument but I still found it mildly entertaining. It's only one issue...I will give Ennis the benefit of a doubt and keep following it.

Avi Arad Says ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ Fits in the Framework of Sam Raimi’s Films

Exec producer Avi Arad says the film won’t erase what came before but will try to weave a narrative that could take place within the framework of the earlier films. ‘It’s not a comeback,’ he says. ‘You have to look at it this way: Do you want to know more about Spider-Man? This movie is going to tell stories that you didn’t see in movies 1, 2, and 3.

Someone tell Avi Arad to go away.

Michael Zulli Reaches Kickstarter Goal Of $17,000 Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

Yessssssss! Looking forward to my signed copy with my name printed in the Thanks. :)

EDIT: From the comments, a comment by the publisher:

As for the practical question of what happens to any overfunding? Well, it's true, it doesn't get refunded. We'll be using those funds to do a number of project related things. The first and foremost is going to be managing the shipping costs on (so far) 238 books. We had figured on shipping lots of these, but not this many. This will also enable us to upgrade the book, whether something subtle or something obvious. It'll also allow for and even more insanely gorgeous limited edition. And if it goes beyond that? We'd love to bring Michael Zulli to Comic-Con this year, where we'll be debuting the book. And who knows.? Maybe the momentum will keep going. Be assured that whatever happens, it'll go towards continuing bring out amazing projects by incredible artists. We've already got two projects in the pipeline from Fables artist Joao Ruas and illustration legend Barron Storey.

****, if Michael Zulli is going to Comic Con...
