So, the guy who is doing art with Rucka on Punisher... I had to look him up. He did some Daredevil work a little earlier that was really good.

Yeah, I'm excited as **** about this.
 
So I just finished watching an anime on Netflix, Shigurui, which was pretty badass...there was only 12 episodes, which covers 30 something chapters of the manga (out of 72 chapters), so now i don't know what happens because I can't find the manga anywhere! ><

As I talked more about the film with my collaborators at Fox, it became clear that the production of 'The Wolverine' would keep me out of the country for almost a year. I was not comfortable being away from my family for that length of time. I am sad that I won't be able to see the project through, as it is a terrific script and I was very much looking forward to working with my friend, Hugh Jackman, again.

I would just love a superhero movie to buck the stereotypical origin story and jump right into action. Let's face it...there are what(?), 3 or 4 origin templates w/details to be filled in. There would be nothing wrong with a non-linear story where elements of the origin are introduced just to get them out of the way. ESPECIALLY w/ comic book characters that have already had movies made. It's that pidgeonholed need to cling to the 'origin-story' that will eventually kill the goldrush of comic book movies.
