The Comic Books and Comic Book movies thread

So, the guy who is doing art with Rucka on Punisher... I had to look him up. He did some Daredevil work a little earlier that was really good.

Yeah, I'm excited as **** about this.

So I just finished watching an anime on Netflix, Shigurui, which was pretty badass...there was only 12 episodes, which covers 30 something chapters of the manga (out of 72 chapters), so now i don't know what happens because I can't find the manga anywhere! ><

It was just... the Affleck one was so terrible. Despite having some truly excellent casting (Michael Clarke Duncan, Jennifer Garner, Joe Pantoliano, etc), it was just dog****. I like Colin Farrell just fine, but his Bullseye was intensely annoying and Affleck blew the whole time.

I've heard the Director's Cut is a lot better, but I haven't been able to talk myself into watching it.

They should reboot Elektra, too. I'm thinking Olga Kurylenko...

Well, since she(I think)is Mrs. Neil Marshall I am all sold on the package deal.

And the NEW series is… | Terry Moore

Rachel Beck wakes on damp, soft dirt. Sitting up, she sees a foot sticking up from the ground in front of her. She is sitting on somebody. She is sitting on a shallow grave. Rolling onto her knees she claws the dirt away. It is the body of a woman much like her. The clothes are like hers. The face… it’s her. Dead.

Terry Moore's next project after Echo finishes in a couple months. Starts in July.

Darren Aronofsky Ditches 'The Wolverine' - The Moviefone Blog

As I talked more about the film with my collaborators at Fox, it became clear that the production of 'The Wolverine' would keep me out of the country for almost a year. I was not comfortable being away from my family for that length of time. I am sad that I won't be able to see the project through, as it is a terrific script and I was very much looking forward to working with my friend, Hugh Jackman, again.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

****ing goddamn it bull**** ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Western Civilization — as well as the movie Warren
Ellis: Captured Ghosts. However. first up is a study of PLANETARY — the multi-dimensional pastiche on genre fiction by Ellis and artist John Cassaday — called Keeping the World Strange: A Planetary Guide. Details on the contents have just been released:

Yeah, I'll be buying that as soon as humanly possible.

As many as it takes.

I would just love a superhero movie to buck the stereotypical origin story and jump right into action. Let's face it...there are what(?), 3 or 4 origin templates w/details to be filled in. There would be nothing wrong with a non-linear story where elements of the origin are introduced just to get them out of the way. ESPECIALLY w/ comic book characters that have already had movies made. It's that pidgeonholed need to cling to the 'origin-story' that will eventually kill the goldrush of comic book movies.
