Isn't the Hulk that 10 foot green dude?
Look, it seems just fine. It's more of a case of why? A reboot wasn't necessary and this looks underwhelming for the most part.
We are talking reboots as opposed to continuing the storyline of the first couple films. I get it, new actor/director, fresh breath of air...it all comes back to the 'oh god, not another rehash of the damned origin story again' argument we have had before. It's all harmless. I don't begrudge Spiderman:A New Beginning that much.
I know how it works. I just wish that someone would break the cycle. Look at Megamind or better example, the Incredibles. The former dispensed with the origin in 3 minutes and I don't think Incredibles really even bothered with it. NOBODY does not know Spidey's origin. Do you really need to dedicate another two hours to retelling it? Are comic book properties so bereft of storylines that they have nothing else to go to(the answer to that is NOOOOOOOOO). So instead of getting groundbreaking storytelling we get the same rehashed common knowledge repackaged yet again. It is the reason why Superhero movies will continue to stagnate till they either cease to exist or someone gets brave and goes against the grain.
First, THR reports that Columbia Pictures is no longer part of The Boys club. The studio was developing the adaptation of the violent and edgy comic book from writer Garth Ennis and artist Darick Robertson but has put the project into turnaround. The book follows the adventures of a CIA squad, known informally as "the boys," whose job is to keep watch on the proliferation of superheroes and, if necessary, intimidate or eliminate them. Writing duo Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay, as well as Seth Rogen, had worked on the screenplay since the project was first set up in 2009. Producers Neal H. Moritz of Original Film and Kickstart's Jason Netter will now shop the project around town. It's an amazing comic that deserves a small screen series treatment.
