Now, about this live-action TV series. It just so happens that there is already a Marvel TV series in the very early stages of development -- Guillermo del Toro's Hulk series. It also just so happens that del Toro was hinting at a very big name writer for this show following a meeting with Marvel:
I had one meeting with Marvel after Avengers and we had a very, very good chat. We have a writer that we want to bring on board, a very, very concrete name. I can't reveal it, but we want to wait for that writer. It's a writer who is otherwise engaged. So right now we are in a holding pattern until that writer becomes free. Then we're going to do a new draft of the script.
Well, that's curious, isn't it? It's pure speculation, so don't take it as any species of fact or truth, but it's certainly interesting. It's also probably more likely that Whedon has been marinating his own ideas for a while now:coughcough::Black Widow series::coughcough:
, and now he has all this Marvel clout (and money) to make it happen.
Judge Dredd fans have a lot to look forward to this fall. The live action Dredd 3D opens September 21, IDW's new Judge Dredd ongoing comic series at IDW by Duane Swierczynski and Nelson Daniel debuts in November and, as announced today, IDW will also be releasing creator-centric JD hardcovers beginning with Judge Dredd: The Complete Brian Bolland, a black-and-white edition showcasing Boland's signature take on the icon as they originally appeared in Great Britain's 2000 AD. What's More, beginning in the spring IDW will begin releasing classic Judge Dredd stories by Bolland, co-creator Carlos Ezquerra and others with new colors by Charlie Kirchoff. That's an awfully bright future for such a grim dude.
After being allowed to tease it eight days ago, today they can confirm it. Matt Fraction and Mark Bagley are confirmed on Fantastic Four, and Matt Fraction and Mike Allred confirmed on FF.
And while the Fantastic Four go on a journey through time and space, the FF will gain Ant Man She-Hulk, Medusa and… ta da! Miss Thing as member, a woman who wears a Thing suit, to keep an eye on things when they are gone.
David Lapham will join China Mi?ville as guest artist for "Dial H" #6, which hits stores November 7.
