The Comic Books and Comic Book movies thread

Hurm, judging by that ad at the bottom NEW SUICIDE SQUAD? Is it a solo book or SS? Or both. The comic book division cannot afford to fumble that. He is huge on Arrow and in the new Arkham game and all, he is like DC's Deadpool without the jokes. It just has never held as a comic. I collected the run a while back(8-10 years???) and that was a good comic. Always loved the look, but Slade Wilson has been a tricky character to write for the masses. Not always bad, not always good. That run a ways back he was almost Alan Quartermain-y. Like I said, tricky. But the market should be there.

I agree. If they can actually make a GOOD comic, the audience is there. I'll be watching reviews and what people are saying about it closely. I do like the character a lot and would love an excuse to buy his comic, but at this point I distrust DC and will not buy without hearing some things first.

David Finch's Cover For Vertigo's Bodies - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

VERTIGO brings you the miniseries of the summer, with four detectives, four time periods, and four dead bodies – all set in London. Edmond Hillinghead is an 1890s overachiever who’s trying to solve a murder no one cares about while hiding his own secret. Karl Whiteman is our dashing 1940s adventurer with a shocking past. Shahara Hasan is 2014′s kickass female Detective Sergeant, who walks the line between religion and power. And Maplewood, an amnesiac from post-apocalyptic 2050, brings a haunting perspective to it all. Si Spencer (HELLBLAZER: CITY OF DEMONS, THE VINYL UNDERGROUND) executes a centuries-spanning murder mystery like nothing you’ve ever seen before, with four sensational artists illustrating a six-page chapter in each issue: Dean Ormston, Phil Winslade, Meghan Hetrick and Tula Lotay.

I gotta say, I thought DC was going to let Vertigo die after Karen Berger left and Hellblazer was cancelled. I was wrong. Vertigo is continuing to put out some great books. This sounds like it has potential to be another.

Hey, I am almost willing to forgive the new 52 of fail debacle is Vertigo keeps on putting out new books. ;)

ANOTHER new trailer for GOTG. seriously......why isn't it August 1st yet? I'm ready.

the Avengers reference is kind of amazing.

Ant-Man Movie Hires Two New Writers - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

I actually find myself rooting against this entirely. Not Ant Man per se, but Marvel's pride and myopia. This will be their first true failure.

Jesus, Marvel.

I think that at first blush Ant Man seems like a goofy fringe property that might allow for a lot of creative freedom, ala Guardians of the Galaxy. However, due to the involvement of Hank Pym, it's probably much more aligned with the Avengers-centric core of the Marvel movie-verse than it initially seems. It's possible the reality of this caught everybody by surprise.
