The Comic Books and Comic Book movies thread

Gotham, The Flash and Constantine all suck. Where's the right thread to say that?

Marvel Launches Sixth Ongoing Guardians Of The Galaxy Comic

Announced by Marvel in USA Today, the comic by Brian Michael Bendis and (initially) Art Adams will feature the Guardians and the Avengers teaming up but future iterations sound even more intriguing.

Working on Guardians Team-Up is like “sitting in a sandbox with my favorite toys and creating new adventures with them all,” adds Marvel editor Katie Kubert. “Branching out with fun ideas like Gamora and She-Hulk joining forces to make a ‘Green Girls Kick (Butt)’ team or the insanity of something like Rocket Raccoon and Deadpool gets me so excited it’s almost more than I can bear.”

Chris Pratt Joins Cowboy Ninja Viking

The film is an adaptation of the graphic novel by A.J. Lieberman and Riley Rossmo, but as Pratt stated, a director has not been attached. Pratt will play Duncan, a man suffering from multiple personality disorder… except that each personality has a distinct skill set (cowboy, ninja and viking) which a government agency uses to turn him into an assassin. Duncan escapes the agency and goes hunting for the billionaire that is funding the project.

Heard the comic is a lot of fun, but have yet to read it.

Besides the printed comics out there I have been enjoying the work of some of the better Web Comics avaliable on the internet.

One of the ones I have followed since it started in 1998 is call "Freefall" http://freefall.purrsia.com/ff100/fv00001.htm
It is a story set in the future following the lives of Florence Ambrose a "Bowman's Wolf", Sam an alien and his robot Helix. It has Humor, Science and Drama and best of all actually gets updated 3 times a week.

Frank Miller And Scott Snyder Planning To Write Dark Knight 3 Together

The story, I am told, would concern Carrie Kelley, the Robin of Dark Knight, now in her elder years. She is now in a similar position to that of Bruce Wayne in the original Dark Knight, and she is seeking her own successor to protect Gotham.

I am told that Frank Miller is too unwell to draw the book, so new artists are being sought. DC co-publisher Dan DiDio, and those above him, want multiple issues with multiple artists, including the likes of Greg Capullo, Jim Lee, Andy Kubert, Marc Silvestri and the like.

I’m also told that Scott Snyder prefers a stand alone title, akin to Sandman Overture, without the many spinoffs that Before Watchmen got. And that his artist on The Wake, Sean Murphy, is a favourite artist choice.

But that’s even if it gets made and I understand there are many other aspects to consider first, including Frank’s health.

This would have been awesome news 10 years ago.

Although is Sean Murphy ends up doing the art...
