http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3331433/dc-comics-announces-line-wide-revamp-new-52-ends-june/

Ugh. Besides the Bizarro/Bat-Mite mini series, this is just another **** you continuity/let's have a bunch of first issues devaluation of a once great brand. How many times can you reboot for ****s sake?

Constantine To Relaunch With Ming Doyle And Riley Rossmo As Constantine: The Hellblazer

Agh. I do like Ming Doyle a lot. I might have to give this a try.

Garth Ennis And John McCrea Revive Hitman Characters For Section Eight As Part Of DC’s June Mini-Relaunch

But the members of the cod-superhero team he was accidentally a member of are, in the new series as part of June’s mini-relaunch, Section Eight, by the same creative team.

**** YES I AM BUYING THAT.

Dark Universe Gets A DC Comics Title, Ahead Of Guillermo Del Toro’s Movie Project

Replacing Justice League Dark in the DCU will be the new title, Dark Universe by James Tynion IV and Ming Doyle (who will also be busy writing Constantine: The Hellblazer).

Probably give this a shot, too.

Section 8...that's great news. Ten years ago. Even if it is prime...12 issues and the boot. Shuffleshuffleshuffle.

I read somewhere that it is going to be a mini-series, so no worries there.

If it helps any, the recent Dicks stuff that Ennis and McCrea have been doing is still really funny. Should be a good time.

Exclusive: Dinosaurs Battle Biplanes in Garth Ennis Marvel Comics Series

Sometime in the early 1920s, ex–Great War fighter pilot Karl Kaufmann is bumming around the Far East, getting into various scrapes and trying to make a dishonest buck. He agrees to fly na?ve English socialite Clementine Franklin-Cox to Singapore, only to end up blown off course and flung into an exotic world of dinosaurs, cannibals, and a rather unusual tribe of amazons — who have their own plans for Clemmie. She, in turn, is not quite all she seems.

Ennis working for the Big 2 again? Maybe he wants to buy a bigger house.

Gina Carano Joins Ryan Reynolds In Deadpool

Carano is said to be playing Angel Dust. Though the character hasn’t appeared in any of the X-Men films yet, Angel Dust is a Morlock with the power to increase her adrenaline giving her superhuman strength for a short time. When using her powers, she ends up with dark line across her face. The character was created by Geoff Johns and Shawn Martinbrough.

Wednesday TV Ratings: EMPIRE Can’t Be Stopped; Plus, CONSTANTINE Not Dead Yet
http://collider.com/wednesday-tv-ratings-empire-constantine/

Constantine, which has suffered from sleepy numbers in its Friday timeslot, was not renewed in NBC’s batch of pickups a few weeks ago, leaving fans to believe it might all be over. But, there is hope! Constatine showrunner Daniel Cerone tweeted that “NBC made some early pickups but #Constantine not canceled. We’ll pitch them our plans for 2nd season in May. Then they decide.”

So all is not lost, Constantine fans. Cerone also suggested that to show support, though, fans should watch the 5 available streaming episodes on Hulu and NBC. Cerone is pushing the whole season so far to be made available, hoping to attract new fans. (In fact, he says quite a bit, so you may want to read back in his timeline).

Fox Orders Pilot Based on Neil Gaiman and Mike Carey’s LUCIFER; Len Wiseman to Direct
http://collider.com/lucifer-tv-series-pilot-ordered/

Fox is moving forward on a pilot commitment for Lucifer, which is based on the character from Neil Gaiman‘s The Sandman comics. Len Wiseman (Total Recall) is set to direct with Jerry Bruckheimer producing. Tom Kapinos (Californication) is the executive producer/creator of the series.

In The Sandman comics, Lucifer is a fascinating character. Gaiman stuck to the character’s mythological origins—fallen angel who rules over Hell—and then found interesting ways to make him interact with the larger tapestry of the comic series. Gaiman’s Lucifer grew out of the character presented in John Milton’s Paradise Lost, but then expanded to explore Lucifer’s relationship to Hell and God with regards to ownership and liberation. The Lucifer storyline, Season of Mists, is also where The Sandman goes from excellent to an all-time classic.

The character was then spun off into his own comic series where he ran a piano bar and the story wrestles with free-will and predestination (a fitting theme considering Lucifer’s fall comes from his rebellion against God). I’ve read all of The Sandman, but I never delved into Lucifer. According to the Wikipedia page, I’ve been missing out on a story that delves into various facets of worldwide mythology, creation, and freedom.

Deadline reports that instead of going with the piano bar set up, the “TV series centers on Lucifer who, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.”

Well with Wiseman on board it will be nice and monochromatic blue...so hooray.

Caught-up on Constantine and it was pretty good for the second half of the 13. The ending 'twist' was seen a million times before. They seemed to pull DC items at will, with characters and plot items.
